About NIT Calicut
The National Institute of Technology Calicut, also known as NITC was established in the year 1961 as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) at Chathamangalam, nearly 22 kilometres away from Kozhikode. In the year 2002, the institute was declared autonomous and has been known as NIT Calicut since then. NIT, Calicut is a federally funded technical university and is declared as the ‘Institute of National Importance’.
It has been ranked 23rd in the engineering Category' and 2nd in the ‘Architecture category’ and was also ranked 75th in the Management category by prestigious in the year 2023. Among other rankings that have been awarded to the college is ‘Southern Asia University’s 651 out of 700 in the Asian University category by the QS World University rankings. Did you know NIT Calicut has been awarded the title of 'Institution of National Importance'?.
Soon after its establishment, the institute offered three Under Graduate Engineering programmes in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering, and was affiliated to the University of Kerala then. Later in the year 1971, the institute offered three postgraduate engineering programmes in Structural engineering, Instrumental & control and Refrigeration & air conditioning engineering. Currently, the institute offers 10 Undergraduate and 30 Post Graduate courses in the field of engineering. The institute offers Post Graduate management programme and research programmes. Admissions to these courses are based on exams say fo the undergraduate program it is the JEE Main, for post graduate it is GATE, for the management program it is CAT and so on. The recent placement records of the institute are as follows: The Highest Package was 50 LPA and the Average Package was 13.77 LPA. The institute comprises three schools, namely:

- School of Nanoscience and Technology

Btech is one of the flagship programs of the college which is provided with 10 specialisations. it has also been ranked 31st by the prestigious NIRF 2022. The BArch program is also one of the most preferred programs with the NIRF rank of 2 in the year 2022.

NIT Calicut Admission Process and Important Dates 2024
The NIT Calicut Admissions is given based on the marks obtained by the students in the respective entrance exams. Students who are wondering about the mode of admission need to know that the admissions are taken only in online mode. Students can apply through various bodies for counselling.
NIT Calicut Admission Process 2024
candidates need to go to the official website and fill out the application form for the respective courses they want to apply for.
- Apply: NIT Calicut Application Process: the students need to apply for the entrance exam and register for the counselling for the final seat allotment.
- Appear in Exam: NIT CalicutStudents with a valid JEE Main score are eligible to apply to NIT Calicut's flagship BTech programme. After the submission of the relevant scores, the students are allotted by the JoSAA. and for the MTech students need to appear for the GATE.
- Register for counselling: The MSc course requires students to go through CCMN Counseling and IIT JAM . In addition to that one must take the institution entrance exam and the PI to be admitted to a PhD program.

It’s NIT
Placement: 1. In the core fields Mechanical, IT and Civil Placements are less but still, the majority gets’ placed
2. In rest, all more than 95% gets a placement but for that, they need not have any backlog.
Faculty: They have a high standard of teaching and that is why some students don’t match that and that only drawback.
Education - Almost each and every faculty of the college is a doctorate degree holder.
College: In NIT Taking admission is not that much easy first you have to secure the merit marks in the JEE Mains entrance test and there was an SAT Exam also there and once you get here after clearing the exams then you have a great career ahead which will enhance you and this college will provide you placements also and in my time I have taken electronics as the field.
Exam: State / National Entrance Exams

Placement: there are many departments in my college like mech, civil, chem, elec, cs etc. so there is a lot internship are carried out with the help of faculties involved in this.
Faculty: Vinay pannikar sir is my favorite faculty in this college. because he is more close to students.
College: Academic: I can tell that this college is having one of best academic in India.
Administration: administration is also good.
Sport : sport activities are carried out efficiently in organized way. overall sports facilities are good for both outdoor game as well as indoor game.
Exam: State / National Entrance Exams
