Highlights of Indore Institute of Science and Technology
The Indore Institute of Science and Technology (IIST) is a well-regarded engineering institution that was established in 2003. It is recognized by the All India Institute of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The institute is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) in Bhopal and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
At the undergraduate level, IIST offers Bachelor's degrees in various fields, including Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Communication (EC), Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. For postgraduate studies, students can pursue a Master's degree in CSE, Machine Design, and Digital Communication.
IIST is committed to staying current with technological advancements, which is reflected in its dedicated Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that focus on areas such as Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, Mechatronics, Additive Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Development.
The institute is highly recognized for its academic quality and has been accredited with an A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). IIST offers over ten programs and has nine branches under its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including B.Tech and M.E.
For admission into the four-year B.Tech programs, candidates are primarily evaluated based on their JEE Mains scores, followed by counseling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Madhya Pradesh. In 2023, the JEE Mains cutoff for general category candidates at IIST ranged from rank 450013 to 1105143. Additionally, IIST offers a two-year M.E. program in three different specializations, and admission to this program is based on GATE scores. Admission or Indore Institute of Science and Technology
Indore Institute of Science and Technology offers a variety of technical courses for students interested in engineering. At the undergraduate (UG) level, students can choose from programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. For those looking to pursue postgraduate (PG) studies, the institute offers specializations in Machine Design, Computer Science & Engineering, and Digital Communications.
To gain admission to the UG programs, candidates are selected based on their performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). For the M.Tech courses, admission is determined by the results of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). This process ensures that students are admitted based on their academic merit and readiness for their chosen fields of study.
How to Apply for IIST Admission 2024
Candidates seeking admission to the B.E. program must follow these steps through the online admission portal:
Registration:
- Visit the official IIST website and select the link for the online admission portal.
- Fill in all the required details to complete the registration process.
- Once registered, download and print the generated “Bank Challan” for paying the application fee.
- Submit the fee at the bank using the “Challan” and obtain the transaction details.
- Log in to the portal and enter the bank transaction details, then upload the receipt of the bank challan to complete your registration.
Application Fee for GATE:
Students wishing to appear for GATE must pay the application fee to complete their application process.
- General/OBC Male candidates: INR 1,500
- Female candidates and all SC/ST/PD candidates: INR 750

My four years at IIST have been excellent and a memory to cherish for a lifetime. The years spent here have been full of learning opportunities that were full of fun and frolic and sometimes with academic grind that one has to go through. The lush green campus of IIST, Indore has all the required facility, like smart classroom, A.C. Computer labs, library, canteen and ATM. Along with academics we have various recent trends technical exposure by Special Interest Group (SIGs), on campus training programs and industrial tours. With the support of Electronics and communication department faculties, HOD sir and principal sir, I got an opportunity to represented our college in Smart India Hackathon and I got Academic Excellence Award in 2018 too. Career development cell and placement cell provided enough training in aptitude, GD, PI and opportunities to get placed in 3 companies.

After registering, the candidates will have to select their choice of college and course as per their eligibility. Allotment result will be declared by JoSAA authorities in online mode on the basis of the candidate’s merit, preferences and availability of seats.through this i alotted iist college, i went there and saw the college and took the admission in iist.

A college worth joining!!!
Placement: I have 4 placements having 2 core comapnies
Faculty: Mr. Rupesh Kumar Dutta is my fav. Faculty.
College: In IISTright from the infrastructure to the academics everything is top notch. I got excellent academic support from faculties and principal sir himself took many sessions on emerging technologies. There are various technical groups named SIG (special interest groups) on Robotics, IoT and Android and iOS app Development etc where students can form their own groups and improve their technical skills. With the support and motivation of my faculties and my great interest in Robotics I got an opportunity to represent Indore at IITKanpur for our Robotics club. IIST aims at holistic development and for that it has various clubs like Music club, photography club, art club and dance club. My favorite one is Dance club. My team represented our college at state level RGPV Nodal competitions and won the prize there. Apart from these, our team was selected for Smart Indian Hackathon and we represented our college and university as well, which would not have been possible without the support of our faculties and Principal Sir. Apart from academics, with the great efforts of career development cell and placement cell, I got placements in 4 companies in which two are core companies. With the kind of exposure, I got, I can proudly say that “I am an IISTianâ€.
