Scholarships are given at IIT Mandi for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Students are awarded scholarships depending on their financial situation, performance in the qualifying exam, and Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA). The following data explains all of the perks and quantities given to students:

• Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for BTech students: MCM scholarships are awarded by IIT Mandi to General/OBC students based on their performance in the qualifying exams. The All India Rank in the JEE Advanced is the criterion of merit for first-year B.Tech students. The scholarship provides a monthly grant of INR 1000 and waives tuition fees. The grant is for one year, beginning with the date of registration in the odd semester. 
• Institute Scholarship for SC/ST students under the BTech program: IIT Mandi scholarships for SC/ST students cover accommodation and board as well as a monthly payment of INR 1000. 
• Institute Scholarship for SC/ST students under MSc and MA program: The institute offers a full tuition cost waiver to SC and ST students, as well as the following benefits:

                         - A monthly stipend of INR 2000 is fixed.
                         - Boarding and housing are provided at no cost.

• HTRA Ph.D. Student Scholarship: According to MHRD and DST guidelines, IIT Mandi pays a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) INR 31,000 for the first and second years. Senior Research Fellow (SRF): INR 35,000 for the third, fourth, and fifth years.
