IIT Guwahati Highlights 2025
The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati), was established in 1994, ranking among the top educational institutions. In 2024, it secured 7th place in Engineering and 9th Overall category in the NIRF Rankings, while earning 6th in Engineering according to India Today 2023. On the global stage, IIT Guwahati ranks at 344th position in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
IIT Guwahati’s excellence extends beyond general rankings. It is globally recognized, ranking 42nd in the QS World University Rankings by Subject for Engineering-Petroleum. IIT Guwahati Admission 2025 for the B.Tech will start soon. The JEE Advanced 2025 exam is scheduled for 18 May 2025. Registration will start in April 2025. The JEE Mains 2025 will held from 22 January 2025 to 31 January 2025. Candidates must qualify for the JEE Mains exam to appear for the JEE Advanced exam.
IIT Guwahati also offers a B.Des program through the UCEED 2025 exam. IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam on 19 January 2025. IIT Guwahati offers PG and doctoral courses too. It offers M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, M.Des, and MA courses for which GATE, IIT JAM, CAT, CEED, and GATE exams, respectively.
IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admission 2025 will start soon. The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled for 1, 2, 15, and 16 Feb 2025. Candidates must qualify for the GATE 2025 cutoff to get admitted to the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. IIT Guwahati also offers a Ph.D. and dual degrees in M.tech + Ph.D. and M.Sc + Ph.D.

- Qualify for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam, which will be held on May 18, 2025.
- Go to the official IIT Guwahati Admissions page and finish the online application.
- Fill out the application form, and provide scanned copies of the necessary documents.
- Pay the application fee and keep a copy of the payment confirmation for future reference.
- Once your application has been processed, you may get the admit card from the official website.
- Take the JEE Advanced exam on the allotted day and time.
- After the exam, visit the official website to get the JEE Advanced 2025 results.
- Participate in the JoSAA counseling process to choose your preferred course and institute.

IIT Guwahati Cutoff 2025
IIT Guwahati will release the JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff scores in June 2025. The JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam will be held from January 21st to 31st, 2025, followed by the JEE Advanced exam in May 2025. In 2024, the most competitive Btech program at IIT Guwahati was CSE, with a Round 1 closing rank of 607. Other competitive programs included Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics and Computing, and Electronics and Communication Engineering with the last round closing rank of 995, 1012, and 1658, respectively.
For M.Tech admissions, the GATE 2025 exam will be held on February 1st, 2nd, 15th, and 16th, 2025, with expected cutoffs ranging from 750 to 1000. M.Sc admissions are based on the IIT JAM 2025 exam, scheduled for February 2nd, 2025. IIT Guwahati Infrastructure Details
IIT Guwahati Campus has a vibrant environment for the students. It has been one of the finest academics for the students to grow and develop skills needed in the sectors they choose. The college not only focuses on textual learning but also provides applied skill learning programs. The 700-acre IIT Guwahati campus provides recreational programs and cultural events. Alcheringa: A cultural event at IIT Guwahati is the yearly "Alcher," or Alcheringa. One of Asia’s largest college-level cultural festivals takes place there. Udgam: The Entrepreneurial Development Cell hosts the annual IIT Guwahati Entrepreneurship Summit or Udgam. It mixes workshops, seminars, and exhibits to provide experiences for emerging Indian start-ups and entrepreneurs. The IIT Guwahati Entrepreneurship Cell sponsored the 15th Annual Entrepreneurial Summit, UDGAM’23, from January 19 to January 22, with IDFC First Bank, Havells, and Zaloni as co-sponsors.
