The Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management is a self-contained graduate business school located in Kolkata, India. It is India’s first institute to offer an MBA degree. The seeds of IISWBM were sown in 1942, when the British government, in need of skilled labor officers for its facilities, particularly its ordnance manufacturers - the Second World War was underway - decided to establish a social welfare training college associated with and adjacent to Calcutta University.
The college is AICTE approved and provides courses such as MBA, PGDM, Ph. D. in full time mode. The institute offers many facilities such as a library, gym, auditorium, classrooms, computer center.
