The Indian Institute of Management (Tiruchirappalli), mostly referred to as IIM Trichy or IIMT, was established in the academic year of 2011. It is a public graduate business school that was founded with the approval of the Government of India. It is one of the thirteen IIMs in India and one of the seven IIMs set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. The institute was previously guided by IIM Bangalore and was later given ‘Autonomous’ status. The institute has also been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The infrastructure of IIM Tiruchirappalli is spread over an area of 173 acres providing all the basic amenities inside of the campus. According to the broader perspective of IIM Trichy, the campus consists of hostel facilities, a library, classrooms, a cafeteria, recreational facilities, and sports facilities.
