Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT) is an Institute of ICARE, Haldia and is the 1st private educational institute of West Bengal which is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (WBUT). The institute was established in the year 1996 to cater to the needs of technical education in the state. The institute foundation was made in Haldia, which is an industrial hub of developing industries in the Eastern part of India. The college has also been accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with a grade ’A’ and a CGPA 3.31/4.
