About College: DG Vaishnav College was established in the academic year of 1964 on 30th June in Chennai. It is a College for Linguistic minorities, established to impart Higher Education. It is regarded as one of the Top institutes in Chennai. It has been conferred the status of ‘Autonomous’ institute by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and was affiliated with the University of Madras. It had Totadri Iyengar, as its first principal who is also the teacher who once taught Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. It has also been accredited with a grade ‘A++’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The DG Vaishnav College had started initially with one course B.Sc. (Honors) in Mathematics, and now it has expanded to other UG, PG and even research programs in all the streams.
The DG Vaishnav College Infrastructure and Curriculum has been revamped to stay updated with the needs of the students and to bridge the Industry-Academia gap. DG Vaishnav College has also carried out collaborations with various institutes and organizations.
