The College of Technology, Pantnagar also known as COT, is a state government-funded engineering college established in 1962. It is located in Pantnagar in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It was established under the Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University and is now called Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology. The College is one of the leading institutes in the World Bank project for the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) and is also the Regional Academy Centre of CISCO. The institute has ISO 9001:2000 certification. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The college ranks 34^th in the university category and 52^nd in the overall category according to the ranking of NIRF.

College of Technology offers various UG and PG courses that include B.Tech, B.Sc, M. Tech, MCA, M. Sc. Admission to these courses is based on entrance exams. The college has two buildings:

• Pant College of Technology or PCT (old building)
• New College of Technology or NCT (new building)

There are separate wings for different departments. The campus has many laboratories with adequate instruments related to different aspects of Engineering.

Residential facilities are provided to the students as well as the staff. There are 8 hostels, 5 of them are for boys and 3 for girls and all the hostels have their own hostel mess, TV room and computer facility. Every hostel has its court for sports such as basketball, volleyball, and badminton. Some of the hostels also have their gym.

The faculty of the college is experienced. Most of the members are post-graduates or Ph.D. in their respective fields. The members are well-qualified and experienced enough to make learning easier for students.

College of Technology Pantnagar Courses

The college offers various programs in the fields of Engineering & Technology and Computer Applications. It also offers a Research program. College of Technology Courses include B. Tech, M. Tech, MCA, and Ph. D courses under different specializations. Thus, offering students a pool of options to choose from.

The College of Technology has various departments that offer 8 B.Tech Degree programs. It includes Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Industrial and Production Engineering.

It also offers 24 postgraduate programs, which include Master of Technology (M.Tech.) and Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.).  

College of Technology Admission is done based on candidates’ performance in the entrance examinations conducted at the national and state level.

• Admission to B. Tech is done based on the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (main) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) followed by the counseling procedure held at Uttrakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun.
• Admission to the MCA Programme is done through the Entrance Exam Conducted by the Admission Committee of the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT).
• Admission to the M.Tech. program is done through the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam conducted by IITs and IISc, Bangalore.

The students have to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria to get admission to the different courses.
