The CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations) has issued the ICSE time table 2025 on November 2024 on their official website (cisce.org). The ICSE 10th board exams 2025 are to be conducted between 18th February and 27th March 2025 in offline mode via pen and paper.

CISCE conducts ICSE board exams every year for class 10 students. ICSE 10th exams 2025 exams are to be held in 18th February to 27th March 2025. All students who have cleared class 9th from CISCE schools can apply for ICSE 10th exams. Council sets the ICSE syllabus and exam pattern. Students must also download and practice ICSE previous year question papers for better preparation of exams. ICSE admit card is issued to students 15-20 days before exams.

Students must go through the ICSE class 10 exam pattern. It makes one familiar with the marking scheme, duration of the exam, chapter-wise distribution of marks, types of questions asked in the exam, etc. One can plan on 'which questions to answer first and 'complete the paper timely' upon knowing the exam pattern of ICSE 10th. The ICSE 10th board exams are held ONCE in February-March.

It is important to know the complete syllabus of different subjects before beginning with the preparation of the ICSE 10th examinations. The ICSE syllabus mentions all the chapters and topics to be covered for the exam. Students must try and cover the entire syllabus of ICSE to obtain good marks. After finishing the syllabus, the students must also keep time for revision. 

ICSE Board Exam Curriculum Details

The detailed curriculum of the ICSE exam from class 1 to class 10 is provided below.

• Class 1 to 5 - The council focuses more on refining the skills of students. All the schools under the CISCE have the freedom to select their textbooks for classes 1 to 5. The board has guidelines for every subject, which the schools must follow to make the syllabus relevant to the students studying under the CISCE board.
• Class 6 to 10 - For classes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, a well-structured syllabus is provided by the council along with the guidelines. The council also provides a list of books from which the schools can choose for their students. There is no textbook set by the council. The subject areas in the ICSE curriculum have been organized in a matrix format. Each subject follows a theme-based approach. For each theme, Learning Outcomes have been identified. These have been given at the beginning of the ICSE Curriculum, after each theme description.

ICSE Exam Previous Year Question Papers

Practicing previous year question papers is a must for students to get familiar with the exam pattern, question types and difficulty level. These papers will give you:

• Frequently Asked Questions: Knowing the types of questions that are repeated will help you to focus on important topics.
• Mark Distribution: Knowing the weightage of different sections will help you to prioritize topics based on their importance.
• Time Management During the Exam: Practicing with timed papers will help you to improve your speed and accuracy and to complete the exam within time.

ICSE Compartmental Exams

After the conduction of the ICSE board examination, the results are declared a few months later. Once the results are out, the board releases the timetable for the ICSE compartment exam. Students who fail to secure pass certificates are permitted to appear for the compartmental examination in one subject in which they have not secured the pass mark. However, the students should have secured passing marks in English (compulsory) and three other subjects in the ICSE examination. The entries of all the students are submitted online to the Council by the Head of the concerned school.

Along with the theory part, scoring well in practical exams is also necessary to score well in that subject. Practical work promotes experiential learning. ICSE conducts practical exams for subjects such as Art, Physics, Indian Music, Home Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Fashion Designing.

• Read the Syllabus: Read the ICSE syllabus thoroughly and make a note of important topics. Cover each subject properly.
