The Uttar Pradesh Exam Regulatory Authority (ERA) has defined the UPTET Syllabus 2022. The UPTET Syllabus will be made available alongside the release of UPTET official notification. The UPTET 2022 Syllabus differs for UPTET Paper 1 and UPTET Paper 2. Knowing the syllabus is the first and most important step in UPTET Exam preparation. Candidates will get to know about the number of sections in the exam, important topics asked in the paper, section-wise distribution of questions, and UPTET Marking Scheme by going through the UPTET Syllabus.

UPTET Syllabus and UPTET Exam Pattern

The UPTET Exam Pattern consists primarily of two papers: Paper-1 and Paper-2. UPTET Paper 1, or the Primary Level paper, has been made mandatory for anyone wishing to teach across the schools in Uttar Pradesh in classes from 1 to 5. To teach classes 6 to 8, however, one must be qualified for UPTET Paper-2, Upper Primary Level, or Elementary Level. Any candidate who wishes to teach at both levels (classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 8) must take both the papers to become eligible (Paper 1 and Paper 2).

UPTET Paper 1 – Preliminary Level

The total number of questions in UPTET Paper 1 is 150 and the time duration to complete the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates are required to complete the paper in 2.5 hours. UPTET Total Marks for UPTET Paper 1 is 150 marks.

UPTET Paper 2 – Upper Preliminary Level

The total number of questions in this paper is 150 and this too comes with a duration of 2.5 hours. Candidates can refer to the table mentioned below for total number of questions and marks they carry.

UPTET Marking Scheme 2022

UPTET Marking Scheme decides how many marks students get as per the number of questions they attempt correctly and incorrectly. As per the UPTET Exam Patter, the UPTET Exam comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) where each question has four options to choose the correction answer from.

Candidates must select one correct answer amongst the four given options. Every correct answer will get students 1 mark allotted to it. There is no negative marking, hence there will be no deduction of marks in case of any incorrect answer.

UPTET Child Development and Pedagogy Syllabus

The Child Development and Pedagogy section consists of 30 questions and each question of the section carries 1 mark. Every correct response of students will get them 1 mark. The section mainly focuses on Child Pedagogy, its meaning, and principles of learning teaching and learning methods. Inclusive education – guidance and counselling and learning and teaching are also a part of this section. Students have higher chances of scoring well in this section if they study each topic extensively.

UPTET Language – 1 Hindi Syllabus

UPTET Language 1 focuses on the proficiencies related to the medium in which the instructions are given. The section is considered scoring, but it requires proper preparation strategy. The section consists of 30 questions and each question carries 1 mark. The difficulty level of the section if of class 1 to 5. The section Language 1 contains content and pedagogy of the subject.

UPTET Paper 2 Syllabus 2022 comprises of five sections. These sections are Child Development, Learning & Pedagogy, Language 1 (Hindi), Language 2 (English), Mathematics & Science, or Social Studies.

UPTET Child Development and Pedagogy Syllabus

The syllabus for child development and pedagogy has a difficulty level of Class 6-8. This is a highly conceptual and theoretical topic. It assesses the candidate's conceptual comprehension. Students can do well in this section if they thoroughly study each topic. This section includes 30 questions. Each correct answer gets students 1 mark.

Is UPTET Syllabus for Paper 1 and paper 2 same?

Yes. To some extent the syllabus of UPTET Paper 1 and UPTET Paper 2 is same but not completely. Candidates must go through the syllabus thoroughly in order to prepare wisely.
