Entrance Exams in 2024: General Applying Procedure

To appear in the above-mentioned exams there is usually a set procedure to apply. Mentioned below are a few general steps for applying:

 

  • The aspirant visits the official website of the exam they wish to appear for
  • They register themselves on the website by filling out the details asked
  • Login using the credentials created
  • Fill in the application form and submit the fee (if any)
  • Download the application form and admit card once it is available on the official website

Entrance Exams in 2024: An Overview

Neet UG:

The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) is the largest exam in India in terms of registered applicants, and a single test for candidates who wish to pursue their UG in Medical courses like MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) from government & private colleges in India and also for candidates who are willing to pursue their primary medical qualification abroad. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and it replaced the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT).

Neet PG:

The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) Postgraduate (PG) is for candidates who wish to pursue their PG in Medical courses like Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), etc. from government & private institutions in India. The exam is conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) and it replaced the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Exam (AIPGMEE)

CUET:

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), earlier known as the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is organized by The National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into various undergraduate courses like BE, B.Pharm, various postgraduate courses like MBA, M.Pharm, Integrated Law etc. along with various doctorate, diploma, certification courses and research programs in 45 Central Universities of India.

BITSAT:

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test, commonly known as BITSAT is organized by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) every year for admission to various engineering courses like BE, B.Pharm, M.Sc., etc. offered by BITS, at its three campuses in Pilani, Goa & Hyderabad. It is an annual test with 3 lakh students applying for it every year, at least.

MHT CET:

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, popularly known as MHT CET is a state-level examination held every year for admission into various courses like BE, B.Tech, B.Pharm, etc. offered by government & private institutions across the state of Maharashtra. The MHT CET is not only limited to the state of Maharashtra. Candidates out of the state can also apply.

AP EAMCET:

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test, popularly known as AP EAMCET is a state-level examination held every year in the state of Andhra Pradesh for admission to various courses in Pharmacy, Engineering & Agriculture. The exam is conducted by Jawahar Lal Nehru Technical University (JNTU), Kakinada on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

KCET:

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test, widely known as KCET is a state-level examination regulated by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission into professional courses in Engineering, Agriculture, and Veterinary. Aspirants willing to pursue Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, or Homeopathy courses must qualify the NEET exam, whereas aspirants willing to pursue architecture courses through KCET must qualify for JEE Main Paper-2 or NATA to participate in KCET counseling. 

JEE Main:

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), previously the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is a widely renowned and the most popular examination to gain admission into the premier Technical Institutes across India, like the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi), etc. The examination is held for admission to various undergraduate technical courses like B.Tech, BE, B.Arch, etc. The examination is completely online and held twice a year since 2019, by NTA.

GUJCET:

The Gujarat Common Entrance Test, also called as GUJCET, is a state-level examination in Gujarat that is conducted every year for students to gain admission to Engineering and pharmacy courses in colleges across Gujarat. The exam is conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB or GSEB).

WBJEE:

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) every year for students who are willing to take admission in engineering courses across the private and government institutes in West Bengal.
