The Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (UPCET) is an entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in colleges and universities across Uttar Pradesh. The exam was previously known as UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) and was conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).

  • The UPCET 2023 releases the results for seat allotment. Applicants who wish to look for admissions in different UG courses on the basis of their CUET UG 2023 scores can check their allotment results. 
  • The commencement of UPCET counselling also known as UPTAC counselling for B.Arch and B.Tech students are scheduled after the completion of other entrance tests. The list of seat vacancies for UPTAC counselling is going to be released on August 2023 and the candidates are required to fill out the registration form once it gets released.

UPCET 2023: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UPCET vary depending on the course that the candidate wishes to pursue. For undergraduate courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks. For postgraduate courses, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks.

The eligibility criteria for the candidates rely on other factors as well such as age, nationality, domicile etc. Their descriptions are as follows: 

  • Nationality: Indian, as well as foreign nationals/PIOs, are eligible for applying UPCET 2023
  • Domicile:  Domicile requirement is not a mandate for UPCET applicants. Despite that candidates who are not having a domicile will not be eligible for admission to 20% seats.
  • Age: there is no age limit for UPCET 2023.
  • Educational Qualification: The educational qualification of the candidate depends upon the course to which they are applying. They are as under:
  1. ​B.Pharma/ B.Des/ BHMCT/ B.Voc/ BFA/ BFAD/ MCA (Integrated)/ MBA (Integrated): Applicants must have passed Class 12th or equivalent to it.
  2. B.Tech/ B.Pharma (Lateral Entry): Candidates must have a B.Sc graduate degree or a  valid Diploma.
  3. MCA/ MBA/ M.Sc./ M.Tech: Candidates must have passed an undergraduate degree from an affiliated institute.

UPCET 2023: Application Form

The details related to UPCET 2023 application form are as under:

  • On April 6, 2023, CUET made the UPCET 2023 application form available.
  • Before registering for the exam, the candidates should validate their eligibility and check whether all the conditions relating to it are fulfilled.
  • The application form must be meticulously completed. Nonetheless, the authorities will offer a form correcting service.
  • If any information on the application form is incorrect, it could be rejected. Candidates must complete the UPCET 2023 application form with all the information exactly as it appears on their 10th-grade transcript.
  • Candidates have until May 22, 2023, to submit their application. After the deadline, no candidates will be accepted
  • The printout of the application form and the fee receipt should be kept by the applicant for future use.

UPCET 2023: Application Form Correction

Candidates can edit the application form from 1st to 3rd April 2023 for UPSEE through CUET UG and from 6th -8th May 2023 for CUET (PG).  The applicant will be eligible for making the changes in the application form only after successful enrollment with the help of the link provided on the official website.

The correction facility provided by UPSEE will be there in some fields. This facility will be available to them in online mode

UPCET 2023: Admit Card

The admit card is the most crucial piece of documentation for any exam. No applicant will be permitted to access the testing location without a valid admit card. For the admit card to be downloaded, candidates must check in to the website.

Downloading the UPCET Admit Card:

  • Candidates can access their UPCET 2023 Admit Card by using the procedures listed below:
  • Visit the official UPCET 2023 website.
  • On the UPCET 2023 admission card, click.
  • There will be a login window.
  • To log in and download the admit card, enter your UPCET 2023 application number and password.
  • The admit card will show up in a window.
  • Select the link to download the admission card.
  • Take a copy of it of the admission card after downloading it.

UPCET 2023: Exam Pattern

The UPCET exam consists of multiple-choice questions and is offline. The exam lasts three hours, and the total number of questions varies depending on the course. Each correct answer carries four marks, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

A detailed analysis of the exam pattern of CUET (UG) and CUET (PG) is as follows:

For UG Courses (CUET UG):

  • Type of Questions: The paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Sections: There will be three sections – Section IA (13 languages), Section IB (20 languages), Section II (27 domain-specific subjects) & Section III (general test).
  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted in online CBT mode.
  • Marking scheme: 5 marks will be awarded for every right answer and candidates will lose 1 mark for every wrong answer. 
  • Languages: The candidates will be able to give the UPCET 2023 Exam in 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu).
  • Time Duration: The slot I CUET Exam will last long 3 hours and 15 minutes and slot II  will be conducted in 3 hours and 45 minutes.

For PG Courses (CUET PG):

Mode of exam: The exam will be conducted in online CBT (Computer Based Test) mode.

Language: The paper will be conducted in Hindi & English (bilingual) languages except for Sahitya and language papers.

Number of Questions: An aggregate of 100 questions will be there in the CUET PG paper.

Marking scheme: 4 marks will be awarded for every right answer and candidates will lose 1 mark for every wrong answer.

UPCET 2023: Syllabus   

The topics and portions from each qualifying degree will form the basis for the UPCET 2023 Syllabus. The UPCET syllabus for undergraduate studies will be determined by concepts from Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, or other acceptable courses.

The UPCET Syllabus for postgraduate studies will be determined by the corresponding graduation disciplines.

NTA has made the UPCET 2023 Result available on the official site. The authority will publish distinct merit lists for various courses depending on the candidate's performance. Candidates must provide their roll number and birth date in order to download their UPCET 2023 scorecard and grade rank. The information on the UPCET 2023 Result is going to include the course applied for, the Merit Rank, the overall number of points scored, and the individual subject scores.

UPCET 2023: Counselling

After the results are released, the authority will hold UPCET 2023 counselling. For every qualified and qualified candidates, there will be five rounds of counselling conducted online. The first session of counselling will begin in the third week of July 2023.

The seat allocation will be made public when the UPCET counselling phase is over, and candidates can access it. Following the UPCET results, candidates will be contacted for the counselling procedure in order to secure their ultimate admission. After the seats have been assigned, adjustments to the college or branch are not feasible.

The UPCET Answer Key 2023 helps students in estimating their likely exam results. In June 2023, the solution key will be made public. Along with the UPCET results, the last response key will be made public.
