The list has been made considering all the important aspects an engineering examination must hold or possess. Since the demand of engineering programs has increased over the past few years, the below listed exams are popular and unique in their own ways.

JEE Main

The Joint Entrance Examination Main shortened as JEE Main is the prominent entrance exam and the exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at the national level. The exam used to be conducted once a year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and now since the conducting body has been changed to NTA, the exam is being conducted twice a year i.e. in the month of June and July. Another change that has been brought by NTA is, the exam is now conducted through computer-based mode.

Qualifying JEE Main would help students get admission to the Indian Institutes of Information Technology, the National Institutes of Technology, and many other well-known engineering institutes of the country. The number of applications received every year easily reaches 10 lakhs. The duration of the exam is 3 hours i.e. 180 minutes and the questions asked are of multiple-choice type. There are three papers conducted through JEE Main i.e. Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3 for admission to B. Tech/B. E. and B. Arch, and B. Planning respectively.

JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is another national level entrance examination which is also the next step to qualifying JEE Main examination. It can also be considered the second stage of the JEE hierarchy but is conducted once a year. The seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology serve to be the examination conducting body with the guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB). Qualifying JEE Advanced is the only way to get through admission to Bachelor's, Integrated Master's, and Dual Degree programs offered by IITs currently operating in India. The top 2.5 lakh scorers or rank holders of JEE Main are shortlisted for JEE Advanced.

Students can apply for the exam by visiting the official website of JEE Advanced i.e. jeeadv.ac.in. The examination is conducted online and there are two papers namely Paper 1 and Paper 2. In the academic year of 2025, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay widely referred to as IIT Bombay is going to conduct the examination.

BITSAT

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is widely known as BITSAT and the exam is conducted by BITS Pilani at the university level for admission to programs at the undergraduate level offered at BITS campuses in Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa. The examination is usually conducted in the month of May every year. Candidates willing to take BITSAT must ensure that they pass 12th class with at least 60% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. It is a computer-based test consisting of 150 questions of multiple-choice type.

The question paper of BITSAT is divided into four sections namely Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning which need to be completed in 3 hours of duration.

MET

The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) is conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education which was previously known as Manipal University. The entrance examination is conducted online for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. The exam is conducted online and in three slots in a day. The application procedure of MET is scheduled to continue until the month of March 2025. MET which was earlier known as MU OET is a university level entrance examination which brings in more than 50,000 applicants every year. There are 16 engineering courses to which admission is offered by the university. The questions are of multiple-choice type in which a question is given with four possible answer options out of which one is correct.

In order to apply for the exam, interested candidates must visit the official website of Manipal University i.e. www.manipal.edu. There is no minimum or maximum age limit to apply for the exam provided students fulfill the other eligibility criteria for admission.

VITEEE

The next and another popular exam in the list of All India Engineering Entrance Exam 2025 is Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination which is widely known as VITEEE. It is one institute level entrance examination popular amongst engineering aspirants. As the name suggests, the exam is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore once a year for admission to its B. Tech programs. The institute offers almost 5000 engineering seats for eligible aspirants. The examination is conducted through computer-based test and around 2 lakhs of students appear every year.

The question paper consists of 125 questions of multiple-choice type which students must complete in 2.5 hours. The question paper is divided in five sections namely Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

SRMJEEE

SRMJEEE stands for SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination is one of the prominent entrance exams conducted across the country for admission to engineering programs offered by its campuses in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, and Delhi-NCR. As the name itself says, SRM Institute of Science and Technology is the conducting authority of SRMJEEE. The institute offers around 7000 seats for eligible engineering aspirants.

  • Candidates who belong to the top 1000 IIT JEE Rank holders are eligible for direct admission. The top rank holders of central or state board examination are also eligible for direct admission.

IPU-CET

Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test shortened as IPU-CET is another important examination conducted at the university level. The exam is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by the university in the field of Engineering, Medical, Dental, Law, and Management. There are various slots under which the process of examination is executed.

The registration procedure of IPU CET is most likely to be started in the month of March 2022 and students who wish to register themselves for the exam can do so by visiting the official website of IPU i.e. ipu.ac.in. It is a paper and pen-based examination and there are over 81 colleges that accept IPU CET score to shortlist candidates for admission to various programs offered by them.

  • The exam is conducted in over 15 cities across the country and candidates registering themselves are free to choose their preferred exam center while filling the application form.

KIITEE

Another entrant in the list is Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination commonly referred to as KIITEE. Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar conducts KIITEE for admission to its undergraduate as well as postgraduate programs. The exam is conducted online and once a year and candidates who qualify the exam are shortlisted for admission. The question paper is divided in 3 sections namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates appearing for the exam must score the minimum qualifying score to get admission to programs offered.

The exam is scheduled to be conducted in over 60 centers across India.

The eligibility criteria to apply for KIITEE vary from one to another course. Students applying for the exam must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute.

COMEDK UGET

COMEDK UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) is an entrance examination conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka which is shortened as COMEDK. It is a state level entrance examination. Interested candidates can apply on the official website of comedk.org by filling the application form and making the payment of application fee. It is a computer-based test qualifying which would get students admission to engineering and medical colleges that are affiliated to COMEDK.

The last but not the least in the list is Aligarh Muslim University Engineering Entrance Examination shortened as AMUEEE. Aligarh Muslim University is the conducting authority of AMUEEE, and the exam is conducted once a year for admission to B. Tech and B. Arch programs offered by the university. Candidates are shortlisted based on their score and rank obtained by them in the entrance exam and are given admission.

 It is a university level entrance examination wherein the question paper consists of 3 sections namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to be completed in 3 hours i.e. 180 minutes of duration. The questions asked in the exam are of multiple-choice type with four options to each question out of which one is correct.
