The Territorial Army of India is the second line of defense after the Indian Army. Every year TA recruits army personnel for various positions from across the nation. The territorial army is responsible for maintaining the civil administration with natural disaster relief and necessary upkeep. The Indian Army delegates its static duties to the Indian Territorial Army (TA). Additionally, TA provides units to the Indian Army when required.
TA currently has about 40,000 employees, who work in different civilian occupations. The TA units of India have officers, junior commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers, and other personnel with ranks equivalent to the Indian Army. The Territorial Army Officer is a non-departmental program that is specifically designed for civilians and former service members.
