SSC CGL Qualification Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
In order to be qualified for SSC CGL, one should obtain a diploma of bachelor education from a higher learning institution that is officially recognized. Specific posts may require certain fields of study or additional qualifications.
- For example, If you want to be a Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), you should first get a good degree in one subject and also have a minimum of 60% pass mark in Mathematics at UCI level or an undergraduate course for which Statistics is part.
- Someone looking to be employed would wish to be a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Financial Manager or Chartered Certified Accountant or possess a BSc in Accounting or Finance or Economics or a bachelor's in business administration.
Age Limit:
The age range is usually between 18 and 32 years, but in some cases, there are different upper limits for ages, while certain relaxations are made for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories according to government regulations.
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after subtracting actual date and time from age as on closing and adding military service period.

Nationality:
The candidates must be citizens of India or meet certain requirements for nationality such as those who are subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees in India before 1 January 1962, or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from such countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal / Bhutan,
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, who wants to settle permanently in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam) intend to settle permanently in India.
SSC CGL Examination Pattern:
The SSC CGL examination is conducted in 2 tiers:
Tier I:
The paper is divided into four sections; namely, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension – a syllabus whose composition is similar to that of conventional examinations done on computers called CBTs or computer-based tests right from their inception up until present day. Each section has got equal number of problems 25 each making up 200 marks in all…And this examination lasts for only one hour.
Tier II:
Also a CBT, Tier-II includes four papers: Quantitative Abilities, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics (for certain posts), and General Studies (Finance and Economics). Each paper is for 200 marks, with varying durations depending on the paper.
