About SSC CGL
The full form of SSC CGL is Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level and as the name suggests, only graduate degree holders are eligible to appear for this examination. It is a national-level examination, conducted by the SSC every year to recruit candidates for Group B and Group C posts in various ministries and departments under the Government of India. This exam is conducted in four stages or tiers, out of which, two tiers are conducted online.
SSC, the conducting authority, was established in 1975. Approximately, 30 lakh candidates register for this exam every year, and an estimated 15 lakhs appear for the same.

The SSC CGL Notification refers to the first official piece of information regarding the SSC CGL examination. The notification will be released on 11 June 2024, by the Staff Selection Commission on its official website www.ssc.nic.in. The notification once released, will provide all the necessary information regarding the examination.
SSC CGL Vacancy 2024
Every year, we see a different number of vacancies for the Group B and Group C posts, released by the Staff Selection Commission in their official notification. The job vacancies for 2024 are yet to be released. In 2023, there were a total of 8415 job vacancies and in 2022, it was 37409 (highest in the last 7 years).

SSC CGL 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should fulfill some basic to apply for the SSC CGL 2024 examination. The SSC CGL eligibility varies from one post to the other. The detailed eligibility for SSC CGL is listed below:
- Nationality: The candidate should be a citizen or a subject of India/Nepal/Bhutan.
- Age Limit: The SSC CGL age limit is between 18 and 32 years.
- Educational Qualification: The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university, to be eligible to apply to this examination.
SSC CGL 2024 Application Process
- Candidate should follow the steps mentioned below to apply online for the SSC CGL examination:
- Visit the SSC official website ssc.nic.in.
- If you are a new user, click on register now.
- Now, the SSC CGL registration form will appear on the screen. Fill out the form with the necessary details.
- Login to the registered account using your registration number and password.
- Next, fill in the SSC CGL application form.
- Upload signature(10-20 KB), photograph (20-50 KB), and other necessary documents.
- Click on the Final Submit button.
- Finally, an application fee of INR 100 should be paid.
SSC CGL Application Fee
- Candidates applying to the SSC CGL examination should pay an application fee of INR 100, to complete the application.
- The SSC CGL application fee can be paid online as well as offline.
- Online payment mode includes UPI, Credit/Debit card payment, and Net banking.
- Offline payment can be done via SBI challan.
- All female candidates, reserved category candidates (SC, ST, PWD), and Ex-Servicemen aren’t required to pay the application fee.

SSC CGL Selection Process
- The SSC CGL 2024 exam will take place in two tiers. SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be conducted online.
- Candidates who qualify in the Tier 1 examination will be eligible to appear for the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
- SSC CGL Tier 2 exam will consist of three papers: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3.
- Paper 1 is compulsory for all the posts.
- Paper 2 will be conducted for the selection of the Junior Statistical Officer in the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation.
- Paper 3 will be conducted for applicants who have applied for the Assistant Audit Officer or Assistant Account Officer.
