IBPS PO Preliminary Exam Pattern 2024

Candidates have a total of one hour to complete the IBPS PO preliminary test, which will be administered online. There are three sections, a total of 100 questions, and a 100-point cut-off. IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2024

• IBPS has introduced a Descriptive Paper in its Mains Examination where candidates will be judged on their written skills. An essay and a letter will be given to candidates to write that will constitute 25 marks and that has to be completed in a time span of 30 minutes.

• The overall time allotted for each section has also been changed.

• No separate paper will be conducted for Computer Applications. The reasoning is teamed up with the Computer Aptitude section and this entire section will contain 45 questions for a total of 60 marks.

• There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.

• The overall time allotted for IBPS PO 2023 Mains Objective Exam has also been changed from 140 minutes to 180 minutes plus 30 minutes for the descriptive test. In total, the time for IBPS PO Mains is 3 hours and 30 minutes. 

• The tests of Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation are divided into two parts: Section A and Section B. All questions in both sections (A & B) are compulsory. Some questions will be of 2 marks and some questions will be of 1 mark.

IBPS PO Interview 2024

Lastly, IBPS reaches candidates who clear the Main Exam to arrange an interview date. The minimum score required to advance to the interview process, which weighs 100 points, is 40% for general candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.

Negative Marking:

For each incorrectly answered question in the IBPS PO 2023 preliminary exam and IBPS PO 2023 main exam, 0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking. Although no points will be deducted if a candidate leaves a question unanswered or blank.

Final Selection:

The candidate will be chosen for the Probationary Officer position after being interviewed and having their overall Main Exam score totalled. Both of these examination phases will carry an equal weight in the ratio of 80:20. After the IBPS PO 2023 Exam Interview Process is completed, a merit list will be created. The joining letter will thus be provided to candidates who make the list by the bank of their preference.
