PM YASASVI Scholarship 2024: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for PM Yasasvi Scholarship 2024 is bulleted below:
- The candidate who is applying must be a permanent resident of India.
- A candidate must fall under one of the following categories: OBC/EBC/DNT SAR/NT/SNT.
- Applicants for the PM YASASVI Scheme 2024 should have completed 8th class. This is done to appear for tenth-grade exams in the 2023 session.
- The applicant's parents' annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
- Students applying for ninth grade must be born between April 1, 2004, and March 31, 2008.

The following are the important things that students must know:
Note 01: If the institution discovers that the number of eligible candidates in the first year is less than the number of slots allotted to it, the balance slots may be offered to eligible students studying in the second, third, and fourth years, etc. on the basis of inter-se merit of previous year's results, giving priority to those with a greater number of years left to complete their respective course, i.e. second-year students are to be given priority over third-year students and soon.
Note 02: 30% of the spaces assigned to the institution will be reserved for qualified female students based on their inter-se excellence. In the lack of a sufficient number of female students, the places may be reallocated to eligible boys students as per their inter-se merit.
Note 03: The 30% seats specified above, however, will not include those girl students who are selected based on their performance in the Institution's overall merit list of OBC/EBC/DNT students, as applicable.
Note 04: If the student is not promoted to the next semester/class, his or her scholarship will be terminated.
Note 05: Because the fund is primarily designated for OBCs, preference will be given to OBC students when examining the plan.
Note 06: In case, the number of eligible students admitted goes beyond the number of slots available at the institution, the scholarship will be limited to the leading students. It will be facilitated on the inter-se merit list on the basis of the course's entrance parameters. However, if more than one student has similar marks for the last vacant spot in an institution, the student with the lowest family income should be prioritized. The remaining students in the OBC/EBC/DNT category admitted to the institution will be eligible for the Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) offered by this Ministry through State Governments/UT Administrations, assuming they are otherwise eligible under the scheme.

Note 01: The scholarship will be payable immediately after a student has been admitted and begins attending school.
Note 02: The Central Government will give tuition fees and other non-refundable expenses. This will be carried out directly to the university using Direct Benefit Transfer.
Note 03: In the same way, the Central Government will give the student directly for living expenses, books and stationery, and computer/laptop with accessories via Direct Benefit Transfer.
PM YASASVI Scholarship 2024: Scholarship Amount
The scholarship provides a substantial amount to aid the eligible students, depending on which class they are enrolled:
- For Class 9/10 students: INR 75,000 per annum
- For Class 11/12 students: INR 1,50,000 per annum
PM YASASVI Scholarship 2024: Slots and Top Institutions
- All IIMs / IITs / IIITs / AIIMSs / NITs / NIFTs / NIDs / Indian Institutes of Hotel Management, National Law Universities, and other Central Government Institutions will be eligible to participate in the Scheme if they apply for inclusion and are recommended by the Selection Committee under the scheme, or if the Selection Committee recommends the name of the institute for inclusion in the list of empanelled institutes of the scheme. If an institution does not fall into any of the aforementioned categories, it must be included in the current list of: i) NAAC A++ and A+ Accredited Institutions, ii) Top 100 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Institutions, or iii).Institutions of national importance, according to listings provided by the Ministry of Education (GoI) from time to time.
- For Commercial Pilot Training Courses and Type Rating Courses, all Government institutes designated by the Director General of Civil Aviation are eligible for empanelment under the plan.
- The total number of new scholarships would be limited to the amount allocated for that fiscal year. The amount of places will be allocated among different sorts of institutions based on the committee's recommendations.
- The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment will notify the list of 'Top Class' Institutions to be covered by the Scheme, as well as the amount of scholarship spots available. Any additions or deletions to the list will be notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, as needed, based on the Steering Committee's recommendations under the Scheme.
- Any institution that does not apply under the Scheme for three consecutive years will be removed from the Scheme's list of notified institutions.
