NMAT Marking Scheme

Refer to the points below to understand the marking scheme of NMAT Exam:

  • NMAT question paper consists of MCQs.
  • +3 marks awarded for every correct answer
  • No negative marking for wrong or unanswered questions.

NMAT Score vs Percentile - How to Calculate the NMAT Score?

If candidates have the number of correct attempts they have made in the NMAT by GMAC examination, they can calculate the NMAT Score on their own.

NMAT Score is calculated by the Number of Correct Attempts multiplied by 3.

The NMAT by GMAC is an MBA entrance test and the level of difficulty changes with the attempts the candidates take.

NMAT Score vs Percentile - What is NMAT Percentile?

The GMAC does not actually release the actual NMAT Percentile, it only releases the NMAT Score. The score is released right after the students complete the exam. Students can calculate the NMAT Percentile on their own. The NMAT Percentile is only a metric that shows a candidate's performance in comparison to the other exam takers. It also represents the percentage of candidates who secured lower marks than a particular candidate in the examination.

For example, if a candidate has securedthe  90th percentile, it means they have performed better than 90% of the other exam takers.  Calculating the NMAT Percentile can help students understand their performance in the exam and the chances of admission in comparison to the other candidates.

NMAT Score vs Percentile 2024 - How to Calculate the NMAT Percentile?

In order to calculate NMAT Percentile, candidates can use the formula mentioned below:

[1 – (Your Rank / Total Test Takers)] * 100

For example, if 30,000 students appeared in the NMAT Exam 2024 and your rank is 200, the formula to calculate your percentile will be:

Percentile = [1 – (200 / 30,000)] * 100 = 99.334

This means you performed better than about 99.33% of the test takers.
