NEET MDS Cut-Off:

A crucial consideration for applicants intending to apply to MDS programs in India is the NEET MDS cut-off. In order to get admitted to the course of their choice, candidates must attempt to achieve a high enough exam score. The lowest qualifying score required to be considered for admission to MDS programmes in India is known as the NEET MDS cut-off. The NEET MDS cut-off varies according on the candidate category—general, SC, ST, and PwD, for example.

The NBE has established the following as the minimum qualifying percentile cut-off for NEET MDS 2023:

  • 50th percentile for both the general and EWS categories 40th percentile for SC, ST, OBC.
  • Reserved PWD categories 45th percentile for general PWD/EWS-PWD category

The number of seats available in MDS courses and the number of students who show up for the exam decide the NEET MDS cut-off. A few weeks following the exam, the NEET MDS cut-off is typically announced.

The NEET MDS cut-off in 2023 may be impacted by the following factors:

  • The availability of seats in MDS courses.
  • The quantity of applicants who showed up for the test.
  • Exam difficulty scale.
  • Exam results for the candidate.

NEET MDS Counseling:

The procedure via which candidates who meet the eligibility requirements for NEET MDS are assigned seats in MDS courses is known as NEET MDS counseling. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) administers the counseling procedure in two stages:

Round 1: Candidates are ranked according to their NEET MDS scores in this first round. After that, seats in the MDS courses are assigned to the candidates based on their ranking.

Round 2: Candidates who were not allocated seats in Phase 1 have the opportunity to compete in the mop-up round during this phase. The remaining candidates are given seats in the mop-up round that have been left vacant by those who accepted their seats in Phase 1.

The NEET MDS counseling process for 2023 is expected to begin in July 2023. The NBE will release the counseling schedule on its website.

The following are the steps involved in NEET MDS counseling:

  • Registration: Candidates who have qualified for NEET MDS must register for counseling on the NBE website.
  • Choice filling: Candidates must fill in their choices of MDS courses and colleges.
  • Seat allotment: Candidates are allotted seats based on their NEET MDS scores and their choices.
  • Payment of fees: Candidates who have been allotted seats must pay the fees in order to confirm their admission.
