The NEET 2024 result is scheduled to be declared on June 14, 2024. The NEET 2024 examination took place on May 5, 2024. The announcement of the NEET result date 2024 was included in the information bulletin released alongside the application form by NTA.

The NEET UG 2024 results will be released online by the NTA in the form of scorecards, which candidates need to download from the official website by logging in with their registration or application details. These scorecards will be in PDF format. Along with the results, the NTA will also publish the NEET 2024 merit list, indicating the All India Ranks (AIR) of the toppers, along with their total scores, categories, and states.
It's important to note that NEET results or scores hold validity for one year only. NTA will also publish the NEET cutoff marks and the final answer keys concurrently with the NEET UG results. However, there is no provision for challenging or submitting objections against the NEET UG results.
How to Check NEET Result 2024 at neet.nta.nic.in?
To access their NEET result 2024 and download the scorecards online, candidates should follow these steps:
1. Visit the official NEET website at neet.ntaonline.in or exams.nta.ac.in/NEET.
2. Navigate to the 'View Result' tab.
3. Enter the application number, password, or date of birth, and the security pin.
4. The NEET 2024 scorecard will appear on the screen.
5. Download and print the NEET scorecard for future reference.

NEET 2024 Cutoff
NTA will announce the NEET cutoff 2024 or the qualifying marks simultaneously with the result. Below are the NEET cutoffs for previous years for reference. The NEET 2024 cutoff will be updated here once released by NTA along with the result.
Experts predict that the NEET 2023 cutoff has risen compared to the previous year. This increase is attributed to the lower difficulty level of the exam and the higher number of test takers compared to the previous year. The category-wise NEET 2023 cutoffs are provided below:

NEET Result 2024: Tie-breaking Protocol
In cases where two or more candidates achieve the same marks in the NEET UG results, they won't be assigned the same rank on the merit list. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has established a tie-break mechanism for such scenarios. The following parameters are considered in the event of tied scores:
1. Candidate with higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,
2. Candidate with higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,
3. Candidate with higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the Test, followed by,
4. Candidate with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of correct answers in all subjects in the Test,
5. Candidate with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,
6. Candidate with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of correct answers in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,
7. Candidate with a lower proportion of attempted incorrect answers and a higher proportion of correct answers in Physics in the Test.

Initially, the NTA announced a change in the tie-breaking criteria for NEET 2024, intending to replace the consideration of the proportion of correct answers with a draw of lots. However, this decision was reversed within a month. The original tie-breaking criteria for NEET 2024 are outlined below:
1. Candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,
2. Candidate with higher marks in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,
3. Candidate with higher marks in Physics in the Test, followed by,
4. Draw of lots using the computer or IT with no human intervention.
Until 2022, NTA also considered factors such as candidates' age and application number in descending order for tie-breaking. However, these criteria were eliminated for NEET 2023.

NEET 2024 Result and Merit List
NTA publishes merit lists for candidates based on their NEET results, categorizing them by their respective categories. Additionally, an overall NEET merit list is released, encompassing details of all successful candidates. Following this, NTA shares these merit lists with different bodies managing the NEET counseling process for national and state quota seats. Subsequently, MCC and other counseling authorities utilize these lists to formulate their own merit or seat allotment lists.
Types of Merit Lists
Overall Merit List: This list comprises the names and ranks of all NEET candidates. It is the primary merit list compiled by NTA and is distributed to all national and state counseling bodies.
15% All India Quota (AIQ) Merit List: This list includes only those candidates who qualify for the NEET UG result. It is created by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
State Quota Merit List: Each state formulates its own counseling merit lists for 85% of state quota seats. These lists feature candidates who qualify for the NEET 2024 result and register for the respective state's counseling.
Validity of NEET Result 2024
The validity of the NEET 2024 result varies depending on the location of the institute where the candidate intends to apply. Here's how it works:
For institutes located in India: The NEET UG result remains valid for the current academic session only for candidates seeking admission to MBBS courses within India.
For institutes outside India (foreign universities): The NEET result 2024 is anticipated to be valid for three years for candidates aspiring to pursue MBBS courses abroad.

What after NEET 2024 Results?
Candidates who qualify for NEET are eligible to participate in the counseling process, which is conducted at both state and national levels. The national-level counseling for admission to the 15% All India quota seats is managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
Following the announcement of the NEET results, the actual admission process commences. Candidates are advised to research the top medical colleges they wish to apply to for their preparation in the NEET counseling process. Once the NEET 2024 results are declared, candidates will obtain their ranks, which can be utilized in the NEET College Predictor tool to generate a list of medical colleges they are eligible for.
