National Scholarship Portal 2023-24 Overview

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) 2023-24 is a digital scholarship portal that offers a variety of scholarships from the federal government, state governments, and various government bodies such as the UGC (University Grants Commission). The NSP houses around 104 scholarship programs worth hundreds of crores for scholarship aspirants who have enrolled on the portal. According to authorities, the platform has so far assisted the government in the implementation and disbursement of scholarships totaling more than INR 2,700 crores. More than 127 lakh applications have been submitted to the portal, with over 84 lakh applications having been validated.

What is the National Scholarship Portal?

The NSP, introduced as the Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), emerged as one of the most famous scholarship portals, offering a variety of services spanning from student scholarship application through scholarship disbursement. The site, which provides a SMART (Simplified, Mission-oriented, Accountable, Responsive, and Transparent) mechanism for effective and speedier scholarship disposal, enables the direct transfer of money to the beneficiary's account, preventing any possibility of leakage.
