About Madras Medical College

Madras Medical College was established in 1835. It is the third-oldest medical college in India. It is a college where the dreams of students to become a doctor come true. It was established in 1835 by the esteemed Governor of Madras, Sir Fredrick Adams. It is approved by prominent bodies such as INC, NMC, AICTE, and PCI. The College has been affiliated with the University of Madras since 1857. The college has been a beacon of medical education excellence. It holds a significant place in history as one of the pioneering institutions that offers medical education at the co-ed level.

 

Mary Ann Dacomb Scharlieb was the first woman in the world who was admitted to a medical college, that is in MMC hence the college has a name in history.   • Admission to Madras Medical College Chennai is based on merit as well as entrance such as NEET, NEET PG, and TNPCEE. Candidates.
  • Candidates interested in seeking admission to Madras Medical College Chennai must fill out the application form available on the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education.
  • Admission in courses such as B. Pharm, BPT, and B. Sc is based on 10+2 marks, candidates who have qualified TNPCEE are also eligible.
  • 15 percent of seats for MBBS are filled through NEET counseling, whereas 85% of seats are reserved for state quota.
  • 50% of seats for courses such as PG Diploma, MD, and MS are filled via NEET PG counseling, and the rest through state quota.
  • If candidates meet the eligibility criteria, they will be called for a counseling session with all the necessary documents for verification.
  • After counseling and verification of documents, they will need to pay the admission fee for the desired courses.
