Admission to the desired Indian Institute of Technology is a dream of every engineering aspirant. These Indian Institutes of Technology across the country are public institutions owned by the central government. The institutes run under the ownership of the Ministry of Education, Government of India and are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act 1961 that has given these institutions the status of ‘Institutes of National Importance'. Each IIT is an autonomous institute and has been linked to one another through the IIT Council which is responsible for their administration. Besides, it is one important fact to know that the Minister of Education is the ex officio Chairperson of the IIT Council.

 

Though getting admission to any of the IITs requires dedication and perseverance. In order to become a part of any Indian Institute of Technology, aspirants must qualify JEE Main Exam and JEE Advanced Exam with a valid score, which top in the list of Toughest Engineering Exams of India. It is not an easy task to crack both the exams and get admission to the preferred IIT. JEE Main Exam is conducted by NTA while JEE Advanced is conducted jointly by the seven zonal IITs i.e. IITs namely IIT Kharagpur , IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee. This year, JEE Advanced 2022 is being conducted by IIT Bombay.

How to Get Admission in IITs?

The top 2,50,000 rank holders of JEE Main Exam are shortlisted for JEE Advanced and those who qualify JEE Advanced 2022 will get admission to these IITs through JEE Counseling conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). The Exam Dates of JEE Main 2022 and Exam Dates of JEE Advanced have been released by NTA and IIT Bombay respectively. JEE Main 2022 will be held in 2 sessions i.e. in June and July from 20th June to 29th June and 21st July to 30th July. JEE Advanced 2022 is all set to be conducted on 28th August 2022.
