Kolkata Police SI Syllabus- Selection Process 2024

The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will conduct several rounds to select qualified candidates for Kolkata Police Sub Inspector. The rounds conducted for the selection process are mentioned below:

  • The Preliminary Examination is a screening exam. The selected candidates are only allowed to take the PMT and PET
  • The qualifying tests are PMT and PET

Kolkata Police SI Exam Pattern 2024

The Kolkata Police SI Exam Pattern consists of details such as Exam subjects, mark distribution, time duration, question type and marking method. The Kolkata Police SI exam pattern guides candidates properly to prepare for the test.

  • The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes.
  • For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the total marks will be deducted.

o   General Studies:Questions will be set to test the General Knowledge of candidates in

 different spheres.

 

o   Logical & Analytical Reasoning: Questions will be set to test the logical and analytical ability of the candidate.

 

o   Arithmetic:Questions will be set on the basis of the syllabus of Madhyamik Examination  of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education

Paper 2

English

o   Drafting of a  report from the points or material supplied;

o   Translation fromBengali/Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali, as the case may be to English,

o   Condensing of a prose passage (summary/precis)

o   Correct use of words, correction of sentences, use of common phrases, synonyms, and antonyms, etc.

Paper 3

Bengali / Hindi /

  Urdu / Nepali

o   Drafting of a report from the points or material supplied;

 

o   Translation from

  English to Bengali and English to Nepali for the candidates who have opted

  for ‘Bengali’ or ‘Nepali’ respectively, and translation from Hindi/Urdu to  Bengali for the candidates who have opted for Hindi or Urdu.

 

o   The translation shall be of 20 (twenty) marks.
