The IIT Bombay MBA placement 2022-24 report shows a remarkable trend with an average package of Rs. 28.01 LPA. This is slightly lower than the previous year’s MBA average package of Rs. 28.88 LPA for the MBA 2021-23 batch. Although the 2022-24 batch did see a great deal of growth in other areas, for example, the Highest package offered of Rs. 72 LPA was significantly higher than the 32.4 LPA offered in 2023.
In the placement cycle for the 2022-24 cohort, 48 recruiters were involved, including 11 new companies, and offered numerous opportunities in various segments like BFSI, Consulting, IT & E-Commerce, FMCG/FMCD, Pharma, and Conglomerates. The top 25% of the batch earned an Average Salary of Rs. 38.29 LPA, and the Median Salary increased to Rs. 29.31 LPA.
The IIT Bombay Average Package for MBA in 2023 increased by 11%, while the 2022-24 batch did fairly well compared to the rest of the candidates despite the average being slightly lower.
IIT Bombay MBA Average Package 2024
With a 100% placement rate, the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) at IIT Bombay effectively finishes the final placement procedure for its MBA cohort of 2022–2024. With the median package at Rs. 29.31 LPA and the highest package at Rs. 72 LPA, the average package that was presented to students came at Rs. 28.01 LPA.
Participating in the placement season were 48 recruiters—77% of former ones and 11 new companies like Air India, Cipla, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, and TAS. Businesses presented positions across a range, including BFSI, Consulting, IT & E-commerce, FMCG/FMCD, Pharma, and Conglomerates. With an average job experience of 22 months and a median CAT percentile of 98.45, the 115-student cohort presented an outstanding profile. IIT Bombay MBA Placement 2020-22 shows a significant 18.1% increase in the Average Package, reaching Rs. 25.93 LPA. The Highest Package for the MBA batch was Rs. 49 LPA, with approximately 65 students receiving PPOs, a 44.4% increase from the previous year. Furthermore, the top 50% of the cohort received an Average Package of Rs. 31.14 LPA, while the top 75% received an average of Rs. 28.41 LPA.

The MBA average package of the top 30% was Rs. 29.46 LPA, while the top 50% was Rs. 27.07 LPA, and the top 80% reached an average package of Rs. 23.73 LPA.

The IIT Bombay MBA Average Package for 2016-18 was Rs. 19.06 LPA, with the Highest Package awarded being Rs. 32.4 LPA. Over 49% of the batch received PPO. A total of 53 recruiting firms engaged in the placement process, with 20 new recruiters joining the effort. Industry titans, including Flipkart, Ola, and Maersk GSC, were among those who hired new employees.
The cohort was made up of 107 students, with the BFSI sector having the most recruiters, with notable organizations such as Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, and Yes Bank providing positions in investment management, corporate banking, and risk management.
