IIM Ahmedabad Admission Criteria 2024-2026: Check CAT 2023 Cut Off and AWT-PI Score
Latest Updates: The IIM Ahmedabad shortlisting process is set to commence in January 2024.The admission criteria for admission into the 2024-2026 batch of IIM Ahmedabad are the same as those of the previous year. The cut-off for admission to IIM Ahmedabad for 2024-2026 is 80 percentile. Candidates are shortlisted for admission based on the CAT 2023 score, the Analytical Writing Test (AWT), and the Personal Interview (PI).
What is IIM?
The full form of IIM is the Indian Institute of Management. IIMs are the most prestigious and top business schools in India providing high-quality education in the field of management. These institutes provide admission to its diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs.
The MBA (Master in Business Administration) programs offered by all the IIMs are the flagship programs of these institutes. MBA is a full-time postgraduate business management program, with two years of course duration.

IIM Ahmedabad Admission Criteria 2024-2026
The shortlisting process for the IIM Ahmedabad 2024-2026 batch depends on three stages. These are:
Stage 1: CAT 2023 Cut-Off Score: After the results for the CAT 2023 are declared, the cut-off percentile is also announced. Students who clear the cut-off score, are eligible for the next round of shortlisting process.
Stage 2: Screening for AWT/PI: AWT is the Analytical Writing Test and PI is the Personal Interview round. Based on the CAT score and other profile records of the candidates, interview letters for AWT/PI are sent to the candidates.
Stage 3: CAT Composite Score: It is the final round of selection which is done by evaluating the CAT composite score of each individual. Based on the CAT composite score, candidates are offered admission, if they are shortlisted for the same.
What is the CAT Composite Score
The CAT Composite Score is the overall score out of 100, secured by the candidate during the final selection round. The CAT composite score is calculated based on the following parameters.
- Academic scores (Class 10 and Class 12 marks).
- Graduation scores.
- CAT exam score.
- AWT/PI round score.
- Academic Diversity.
- Gender Diversity.
- Work Experience.

IIM Ahmedabad Selection Process: Graduation Score
The graduation score in the selection process is assigned to the candidates based on their field of study. AC which stands for Admission Criteria is used to assign scores to the candidates.
- AC-1 refers to graduates in medicine, surgery, and related courses.
- AC-2 refers to Chartered Accountants, Company Secretary-ship, and related courses.
- AC-3 refers to graduates in finance, hospitality, commerce, and management studies.
- AC-4 refers to graduates in Engineering and Technology, IT, Computer Application, Architecture, and agriculture-related fields.
- AC-5 refers to graduates in Arts, Education, Fashion, Design, Law, and related degrees.
- AC–6 refers to graduates in other fields which are not mentioned.

IIM Ahmedabad Selection Process: AWT-PI Score
- After the preliminary screening round of selection, a list of shortlisted candidates for the AWT-PI round is released. This list depends on the Composite Score.
- The Composite Score is calculated using a formula, which is: {ARF_CS * Normalized AR score + CATF_CS*Normalized Overall Score in CAT-2023}
- After the AWT-PI round, the final selection of candidates will be done. The final selection is based on the Final Composite Score (FCS).
- The Final Composite Score (FCS) is calculated using the following formula
- FCS= {PIF * Normalized PI Score + AWTF * Normalized AWT Score + CATF_FCS * Normalized CAT Score + ARF_FCS * AR}
- PIF and AWTF are PI and AWT multiplication factors respectively.
IIM Ahmedabad Selection Process: Shortlisting of Candidates For The Academic Writing Test + Personal Interview (AWT-PI) Round
- Shortlisting of candidates for the Academic Writing Test and Personal Interview is based on their CAT 2023 score and their academic record (class 10, class 12, and graduation).
- The shortlisted candidates for this round will be called to one of the venues in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi/Delhi NCR, to participate in the AWT/PI round.
