IB MTS Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Preparation Strategies 2024

The Ministry of Home Affairs can soon invite applications for IB Security Assistant/ Executive & Multi-Tasking staff recruitment for 2024. Tier 1 Exam 2023

On the basis of the written exam held on 20th December 2023, for the post of Security Assistant/MT & Multi Tasking Staff/ General in IB, the candidates have been shortlisted for the Tier 2 exam.

Candidates was intimated through email/SMS to download the call letters for the tier 2 exam which was conducted on 23rd June 2024. (including date, time, venue, relevant instructions, etc.) in due course.

 Exam Pattern IB MTS Exam 2024

The IB MTS exam pattern consists of 2 of two exams; tier 1 and tier 2 exam. A brief about both exams is given below:

TIER 1

·      Total Marks: 100 marks

·      Duration: 1 hour

·   Marking: 1/4TH Negative Marking

·   Minimum Cutoff: 35/100

·   Total questions: 100 questions in 5 parts i.e 20 questions for each subject.

·   Subjects: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Studies.

TIER 2

·      Total Marks: 40marks

·      Duration: 1 hour

·   Mode: Offline exam (Type – Descriptive type: Local languages)

·   Interview to check the spoken ability

TIER 3

·   Personality test (For SA/Exe only)

IB MTS Exam Preparation Strategy

IB MTS is a very competitive exam which is conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. A large number of candidates apply for this limited no. of positions. A proper strategy will help you achieve your goals.

·       Know the exam pattern: The initial step to appearing for any competitive exam is to make an effective strategy and grasp all the knowledge related to the exam structure, duration, and no. of questions.

·       Make a schedule: A proper plan is necessary to clear any competitive exam as it will help you to manage your timeline and comply with the same.

·       Assessment of the syllabus: Due attention should be paid to assessing the blueprint of the syllabus with special emphasis on prioritizing the most important topics followed by the least important ones.

·       Thorough practice of PYQ’s: Marking Scheme along with the type of questions asked is the pre-requisite of a topper candidate. PYQs provide clear guidance for the aforementioned.

·       Note Making: jotting down the important pointers will facilitate the final run-through a day before an exam in order to recall every significant Key Result Area (KRAs) at once.

·      Mock Examination: Mock exams provide an exam-like atmosphere before the final day of the examination. This helps in time management during exams as well as helps in identifying areas that require more attention.
