Interacting with the ChatGPT Responses

Once a prompt has been entered, the users have multiple options to deal with those responses. There are various options that a user can use like editing the prompt, entering a new prompt, regenerating the response, and many more. Each of these options has been discussed in detail below.

Editing the Original Prompt

To edit their prompt, the user simply needs to hover over the prompt and click on the pencil icon. The user can then enter the edited prompt and click the Save & Submit option. The AI will then give the new edited response.

Entering a New Prompt

One of the key features of Chat GPT is that it stores all the conversations and the user can easily access them anytime. Here, the user can either start a new conversation or even build on the previous one.  The new prompt can also be related to a different topic.

Generate a New Response

In case a user is not happy with the previous response, the user can simply click on the refresh option at the end of the response and a new response will be generated for the same prompt. In this option, the user does not need to enter a fresh prompt every time. They can simply refresh the response, to get a more satisfactory response that is more to their liking.

Note: The response can be generated only to the most recent chatgpt output

Copy Response

This option allows the users to copy their responses and share them elsewhere. This saves the time spent highlighting the text and using keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste. To Copy a response the user needs to click on the clipboard/page-like icon at the bottom of the text, and it will immediately turn to a checkmark indicating that the text has been successfully copied.

Share the Conversation

Chat gpt also allows users to share conversations with their peers or colleagues. To share a conversation there are two ways:

  • The user can click on the arrow icon available in the top right corner along with the initial of the name
  • The user can click on the ellipse icon (…) or the three dots and select the Share Chat option

Once the user selects the share chat option, a pop-up box will appear to create a link for the chat. The user can then click on the Create link option and a short form link to the conversation will be generated. That link can now be shared to any messaging application like WhatsApp, Google Chat, or even Messaging.

Disliking the Response

The AI portal - Chatgpt is incapable of judging a human response to its automated answer. It relies on the judgment provided by humans to determine if the user is satisfied or not. In case someone dislikes a response, they can click on the Thumb-Down icon to indicate their dissatisfaction towards the provided response. However, it must be noted that the feature is not available for enterprise accounts.

Listen to the Generated Response

To listen or hear the response generated by Chatgpt, the user can click on the speaker icon at the end of the conversation and an automated voice will start reading out the response generated. The user can also change the voice settings by tapping on the name initial in the top-right corner. Here is how it can be done:

  • Select the name initial in the top right corner
  • Click on settings, and go to Speech
  • Select your preferred voice and it will automatically be changed.

Chat GPT Versions and Their Uses

Chatgpt has 4 versions. Chat GPT 3.5 Turbo (most commonly used), Chat GPT 4o, Chat GPT 4 (Plus), and Chat GPT DALL.E 3. All these versions are effective but each of them has its own set of highs and lows. A brief about these four versions has been explained in the table below.

Chat GPT VersionDescription
3.5 (Turbo)
  • The version provides information based on the September 2021 or January 2022 data. However, it can hold almost 16,385 tokens in its memory (roughly 25 pages of text)
  • Does not have access to upload images and web files or any kind of file
  • The version only allows text-based interactions and a limited image-based interaction
4o
  • The version is a smarter and faster version than 3.5. However, the usage is limited and the user has a daily quota
  • The Open AI platform will soon make the version free for all users with a daily quota of usage
4 (Plus)
  • The version provides with the most recent data along with direct links to sources. This model can store almost double the number of tokens as compared to version 3.5
  • Users can even upload images and files and create their own custom response
  • The version allows for both text-based and image-based interaction along with web files
DALL.E 3
  • The latest Chat GPT version used for AI Image creation, and available to only plus users
  • Users can create any kind of image using this version. For ex.: The user can enter a prompt saying ‘Generate an image of a Panda dressed up as a karate champion’, and the AI generator will produce the image. The user can then modify the prompt as a next step and the AI will keep generating images until you give no more prompts.
  • The version is purely for AI image creation

Creating Images with ChatGPT (DALL.E 3)

ChatGPT now allows users to create AI Images with the ideas they have in their heads. The AI Image Generator and ChatGPT's latest version DALL.E 3 have made this process easy. All the user has to do is enter their thought for the image, and the generator will bring your ideas to life by sharing a few photos (usually 4). The user can then modify the prompt to create other images or settle with one of the images shared by ChatGPT. In case the user is satisfied with the overall image but wants to make a minor change, here is what they need to do:

  • Select the pen icon above your image
  • Highlight the area(s) you want to change
  • Enter the text prompt in the message bar in the side panel and hit enter
  • The modified image will be generated

Using Images with ChatGPT

The users with access to the ChatGPT 4 version can easily work their way around the images. The process is quite simple. All the user needs to do is upload a file and enter the prompt. Below is the step-by-step guide on using images with Chat gpt.

  • Select the paperclip icon on the left in the message bar
  • Select the file or picture you wish to work with. The user can select multiple files
  • Click on the open button, and enter the accompanying prompt in the text bar

For ex:

  • The user can upload an image of a dog and ask ChatGPT about its breed
  • The user can also upload a file (PDF/Word) and ask chatgpt to rectify or proofread the assignment for them

How to Build a Custom ChatGPT?

It may happen, that users find themselves entering the same prompts every time like - “keep the content easy to read”, “write the code in Python”,  or any other prompt. To save time by entering the same prompt each time, ChatGPT allows its users to create a custom set of instructions by using its Custom GPT option. However, it must be noted that the option is unlimited for ChatGPT 4 users, and limited for ChatGPT 3.5 users. Creating a custom set will also limit the user to just that one set if using V3.5

With the enterprise or plus version, the user can create as many custom GPTs as they wish, each tailored with their unique set of instructions, along with access to DALL.E 3, the Internet, and the ability to run a code. And all this can be done by using plain English Language in minutes. No Coding is required whatsoever!

Advantages of a Custom GPT

With the development in ChatGPT, the custom GPTs have their own set of advantages which have been explained in detail below.

AdvantageDescription
Upload Knowledge Source FilesInstead of copying and pasting from every source the user wants ChatGPT to consider, they can simply upload knowledge files directly to the GPT Builder, and ChatGPT will do the rest.
Access to Data AnalystThis feature allows the users to process data-related tasks. The user can convert an audio file to a transcript or even ask ChatGPT to answer the questions based on any financial reports that the user has uploaded
Interact with other GPTs from any ConversationThe user can also interact with other GPTs by entering the GPT name (@gpt) and the following prompt in the message bar

Conclusion

In conclusion, ChatGPT has now become a revolution and has become a popular platform for all kinds of businesses, employees, and students. It can be used for various different reasons and can even ease the work for all. However, the users should keep in mind that the platform is only for reference use and the data should not be used as it is. Users should verify the content and use the generated content by framing it in their own words. While each platform has its advantages and disadvantages, ChatGPT also has its own pros and cons, which have been discussed above.
