How to Prepare for XAT 2021?

Xaviers Aptitude Test shortened as XAT is one of the national level entrance examinations conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur every year. The exam is conducted to shortlist the most appropriate and proficient students willing to pursue their career in the field of management. Taking Xaviers Aptitude Test would become useful as there are more than 100 institutes that accept XAT Score when it comes to admission to their management programs. 

Students who wish to apply for XAT Exam must know that the examination is a computer-based test conducted on the first Sunday of the year.

As per the information released by the National Testing Agency, XAT 2020 is all set to be conducted on 5th January 2020 (Sunday).

Before applying for the examination, the candidates must be aware of the examination pattern and how they must prepare themselves for the exam. Knowledge of how the question paper is designed and what type of questions are usually asked in the examination somehow instill students with what strategy they must adopt to qualify the examination.

Preparation Strategy for XAT 2020

The question paper is seen to be divided in three sections namely Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation. There is one more section named as General Knowledge, performance in which is not considered while totaling the marks obtained by candidates.

  • These topics fall under three different categories namely Concept Driven, Practice Intensive, and Environment Sensitive.
  • Topics of Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and Verbal & Logical Ability come under Concept Driver category, topics of Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning under Practice Intensive and General Knowledge under Environment Sensitive category.

XAT Exam is marked to possess dissimilarities from other management entrance examinations as the question paper consists of Decision Making section that other MBA entrance exams don’t have. Here, in this the sections the management aptitude of students is analyzed based on their performance in given different situations and cases.

In general, the candidates appearing in XAT 2020 must possess strong analytical, reasoning, and quantitative skills in order to qualify the examination. Structure and Syllabus of XAT 2021

 

There are 100 questions of the MCQ arrangement in this 3-hour exam, with one mark awarded for choosing the correct answer out of a total of 5 options and 0.25 marks deducted for selecting the wrong answers.
