Badhte Kadam Scholarship is an H T Parekh Foundation program that helps talented students from poor backgrounds to study without financial constraints. It helps students in financial emergency and also gives mentorship and career guidance later on. The scholarship will cover education expenses like fee, hostel fee, devices/ tools, books, stationery etc.
H T Parekh Foundation was set up in 2012 as the philanthropic arm of Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (now HDFC Bank) to honor the legacy of its Founder Chairman Shri Hasmukh Thakordas Parekh who was a pioneer in the development space in India. It partners with NGOs across India in Education, Healthcare, Environment and Disability.

HDFC is a leading mortgage lender and financial institution. As part of its education commitment, HDFC has launched HDFC Badhte Kadam Scholarship. This scholarship aims to provide financial support to high achieving students from underprivileged sections of the society so that they can pursue and complete their education despite financial constraints.
Besides financial support, the scholarship also provides students with mentorship and career counseling. The scheme covers various educational expenses, tuition fees, reimbursement, hostel fees, learning devices, books, stationery and more.
Applicants have the opportunity to receive financial assistance of up to Rs. 1 lakh through this scholarship program.

Section-wise eligibility criteria are as follows:
Student should be an Indian and studying in 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th. Student who have lost a parent or earning family member during COVID-19 will be given preference. Not a HDFC Ltd employee and annual family income should not be more than 6 lakhs.
Student should be an Indian and studying undergraduate courses like B.Com., B.Sc., B.A., BCA, etc. Student who have lost a parent or earning family member during COVID-19 will be given preference. Not a HDFC Ltd employee and annual family income should not be more than 6 lakhs.
Indian student studying professional undergraduate courses like B.Tech., MBBS, LLB, B.Arch., Nursing, etc. Student who have lost a parent or earning family member during COVID-19 will be given preference. Not a HDFC Ltd employee and annual family income should not be more than 6 lakhs.

The following documents are necessary for students applying under the HDFC Badhte Kadam Scheme for Graduation:
There will be no exam. The selection committee will see applications, see the need of the applicant and decide on a one-to-one basis. Eligibility as shown by proof of crisis will be the first criteria of selection.
Selected candidates will be called for telephonic interview and document verification before final selection.
