The School of Law at GD Goenka University inaugurates a new state-of-the- art facility on campus, the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall

In a formal ceremony conducted at the university campus, the School of Law at GD Goenka University proudly opened its cutting-edge new facility, the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall.

Honourable Mr. Justice Dipak Mishra, a former Chief Justice of India, graced the occasion with his distinguished presence. Other notable guests included Senior Adv. (Dr.) Ms. Pinky Anand, a cyber law expert, Adv. (Dr.) Pavan Duggal, and Mr. A.C. Kher, a former DIG (Prison, Tihar Jail) and AOR, Supreme Court of India. Mrs. Renu Goenka, the Hon'ble Chancellor of the GD Goenka University, oversaw the ceremony.

The Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall is a monument to the School of Law's dedication to providing the best possible legal education and offers outstanding opportunities for future lawyers to perfect their talents. With 200 pupils able to sit comfortably, this cutting-edge facility is furnished with modern conveniences. An real judicial setting has been painstakingly recreated in the hall, creating a welcoming environment for undergraduate students to practise, present and prepare for moot court contests.

The annual Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ClArb) Moot Competition is one of the highlights of the School of Law's academic year, and it will now have a prominent home in the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall. Furthermore, the space will also host a number of national moot court tournaments, reiterating its significance as a key component of the institution's signature events.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Dipak Mishra praised the GD Goenka University School of Law for its crucial role in forming the professional identities of law students during his remarks at the inauguration ceremony. He also expressed his admiration for the growing demand for the legal profession in India. He emphasised further that students will definitely be inspired and motivated to succeed in their legal professions by the newly built moot court hall.

The Group Managing Director, Mr. Nipun Goenka remarked: “The School of Law at GD Goenka University has always been at the forefront of providing a comprehensive and dynamic learning environment, preparing students to become competent and socially responsible legal professionals. The addition of the Gopi Ram Goenka Moot Court Hall is yet another step in this direction, providing students with unparalleled resources and opportunities for their academic and professional growth.”

The head of the law school of GD Goenka University, Prof. (Dr.) Azimkhan B. Pathan, stated his belief in the significant influence the new facility will have on the academic careers of the students. "I am convinced that this new technology will greatly assist our kids. Hall of Moot Court. It will operate as a center for hands-on training and experiential learning, assisting our prospective attorneys in acquiring the knowledge and abilities they need to succeed in their legal professions.
