Steps to Apply for WBPSC Food SI
Step-1: Visit the official website of WBPSC @ wbpsc.gov.in.
Step-2: Click on “Apply Online”
Step-3: Candidates will have to log in themselves first.
Step-4: Login using their “Email I.D and the Password “.
Step-5: Fill in the details required in the application form correctly for Food SI post.
Step-6: Upload your photo and signature in the required dimension and size.
Step-7: Finally, pay the required application fee and click on “Submit”.
Step-8: Save and download the application form for future use.
WBPSC Food SI Eligibility
Candidates need to check eligibility criteria for Food SI post before proceeding for online application:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India (either natural or by registration), or Such other nationals as declared eligible by the Govt. of India.
- The candidate must have good health and character and suitability in all respects for appointment to Government service.
- Educational Qualification: Candidate must pass in Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent. Ability to read ,write and speak in Bengali/Nepali. (Not required for those whose mother tongue is Nepali)
- Age Limit: The candidate must not be below 18 years but not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2023. Age as recorded only in the Madhyamik or equivalent certificate will be accepted.
WBPSC Food SI Selection Procedure
The candidate will be selected through a written examination and personality test. The marking scheme and syllabus of the examination is as follows:
- Written Examination: The Examination will consist of only one paper on –
- (i) General Studies (ii) Arithmetic
- Total Marks – 100 (50 marks each).
- Duration of examination will be 1½ hours.
- The examination will be held on multiple choice objective type questions.
Syllabus of the Written Examination:
(i) General Studies (Matters of common experience including every day science, current events and problems with special reference to India, elementary knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography).
(ii) Arithmetic (Questions will be set on the basis of the syllabus of Madhyamik Examination of the W.B.B.S.E. with mental ability).
(iii) Assessment and evaluation of answer scripts done by the Commission shall be final.
- Personality Test:
- Full Marks – 20
- A limited number of candidates selected merit wise on the results of written examination will be called to appear at the personality test.
- The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the written examination and the marks obtained in the personality test.
- The Commission shall have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in the written examination, the personality test and also in the aggregate.
WBPSC Food SI Qualifying Marks
The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has fixed the following category wise qualifying marks in aggregate. The aggregate marks will be the marks obtained in Written Examination and Personality Test taken together. The Commission will, however, have the liberty of further relaxing qualifying marks, if sizeable nos. of posts in Reserved Categories remain unfilled.
