Dr Ambedkar Scholarship 2024 is open for students who are interested in pursuing pre-matrics as well as post -matric.This Idea of scholarship  was originally established by the ministry of Social Justice. This Idea was specifically introduced for students who belong to Nomadic, Denotified and Semi-Nomadic tribes. The whole idea behind this system was the government's effort to spread the importance of education among DNTs and also to equalize them with other parts of culture.

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2024

The Dr Ambedkar Scholarship is provided by the Punjab government to the financially backward SC/OBC category of students settled in Punjab. Students who have cleared their class X and want to pursue a postdoctoral degree can  apply for the Dr Ambedkar scholarship.
The eligibility criteria for the post matric scheme for SC/ OBC students is enlisted below:

  • The annual family income of SC students should not exceed INR 2,50,000.
  • The applying candidates should be Indian citizens and belong to SC.
  • Candidates who have changed their course of study after completion of one or more levels of education are not considered eligible for Dr Ambedkar scholarship.
  • Candidates pursuing postgraduate medical courses are considered eligible for the Dr Ambedkar scholarship 2024, ( they do not practice medical)
  • Candidates of distance learning/correspondence courses are also eligible to apply.
  • Aspirant candidates should have passed 10 class and should be enrolled in a post- matric or post-secondary course from a reputed institution.
  • The candidates applying for the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar scholarship would not receive benefits from any other scholarships.
  • Candidates who are taking pre-examination coaching with financial help from the state or central government are not eligible for the Dr Ambedkar scholarship.

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Application Process 2023-24

Interested students can apply for the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship from its official website.
The candidate can obtain the Dr Ambedkar scholarship form online from the portal. Interested candidates are required to fill the form thoroughly before submitting it. The steps for application process is mentioned below:

Step 1- Candidates should visit the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Portal.
Step 2- For a fresh user, who wants to register themselves on the scholarship portal should go on the ‘Student Registration’ tab, in order to complete the registration process.
Step3 - For further completion of the Dr Ambedkar scholarship portal login, the candidates should go to the ‘Registered Students Login’ and provide the user ID and password.
Step 4- Candidates should go and click on the ‘Apply for scholarship’ in order to access the scholarship form.
Step 5- The candidates are required to fill the form with all the necessary details.
Step 6- The candidates should recheck all the necessary details and for the submission of their forms, click on the Register Scholarship Application Form.
Step 7- For the verification of a candidate's credentials, the candidates need to click on the left side of the tab of the application form and upload all their necessary documents, in order to get verified.
Step 8- Lastly, the candidate should take a print out of the submitted application and then submit to the university with all the necessary documents.
 

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Renewal Process


All candidates, irrespective (both new and both) renewal applicants who are seeking in availing the Dr Ambedkar scholarship must register themselves on the official portal.
Candidates can obtain Dr Ambedkar scholarship form online from the official portal. The steps are mentioned below:

  1. The renewal candidate has to go the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship official  portal and click on the ‘New Registration’
  2. Candidates should fill the Dr Ambedkar scholarship login credentials, which were entered previously
  3. The candidates should enter the click in the ‘Renewal Application’ tab for the present year.
  4. All personal information has to be entered, in order to generate a new ID and password.
  5. The applicants should log in the portal with new obtained credentials.
  6. The Dr BR Ambedkar form is shown, where candidates should enter details like last year’s  merit result and attendance details.
  7. A candidate is allowed to add any other essential detail, if required.
  8. The last step is to upload all the necessary documents and ‘Submit’ the renewal application form.

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Important Document 


Interested candidates are required to submit all the necessary documents during their registration for the Dr Ambedkar scholarship 2024. 
Note- All the documents should be scanned and imposed in a format. The important documents required for the registration of Dr Ambedkar Scholarship are listed down below:

  • Self authentication photocopy of the caste certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Certificate of parent’s income
  • Parents' income certificate
  • Reprint of candidate’s high school certificate
  • Reprint of the bank passbook’s first page

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Benefits 


The Punjab government provides Dr Ambedkar scholarship amounts to credible students, providing the benefit to complete their high studies. The Punjab government would deposit the Dr Ambedkar scholarship amount directly to the scholar’s bank account through Direct Benefit  Transfer (DBT).
The Dr Ambedkar scholarship benefits are enlisted down below:

  • Thesis typing/ printing charges for research scholars is up to INR 1600.
  • Students of professional and technical courses would get INR 1600 per annum as their study tour charges.
  • Students with disabilities would receive a transport allowance of INR 160 per month, also an allowance of INR 160 per month, Additionally  a special pay of INR 160 per month along with an additional allowance of INR 240 per month.

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Selection Process

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship selection procedure consists of some steps. The steps are enlisted below:

  • Application Submission: Candidates must submit their scholarship application, along with all the necessary documents, by deadline.
  • Screening: All the received applications are checked to be verified, they must meet the eligibility criteria in order to get the candidates selected.
  • Evaluation: Shortlisted candidates may overcome the additional screening, which may involve interview, written examinations to evaluate their academic value, financial need and individual potential Final Selection: Scholarships are selected on the basis of the findings of the evaluation.
