DCE Scholarship 2023
DCE Scholarship 2023, also known as Kerala scholarship is a broad term for scholarships that are being run by the Government of Kerala and its subsidiary departments. Every year, the government of Kerala calls for applications for several scholarships to ensure that finances do not remain a constraint in the pathway of students while they are in pursuit of their dream academic careers. A DCE scholarship applies to students coming from different strata of life. The key objective behind introducing these scholarships is to provide suitable financial assistance to meritorious and deserving students of Kerala state.

A total of 16 Kerala scholarships are available for students to apply which are being run by the central government and the state government of Kerala. The key departments of the state government of Kerala offer scholarships for students of the state which also include the Department of Minority Welfare and the Department of Collegiate Education. The detailed list of Kerala scholarships along with their eligibility, provider information, award details, the application process, and the tentative application period are given below.
List of DCE Scholarship (Kerala Scholarship)
ITC Fee Reimbursement Scholarship, Kerala
Provider – Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala
Eligibility –
- Open for students who belong to Minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Parsi, Sikh, Buddhist, and Jains).
- The applicants must be pursuing an ITI course.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8,00,000 per annum.
Awards
Career Assessment Test
- INR 10,000 for students pursuing the 1-year course.
- INR 20,000 for students pursuing the 2-year course.

C H Muhammedkoya Scholarship, Kerala
Provider – Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala
Eligibility –
- Open for girl students only who belong to Muslim, Latin, or converted Christian communities.
- The applicants must be pursuing studies at graduation level or above.
- The percentage of marks to be obtained by them in the last qualifying examination should be 50% or more.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8,00,000.
- Students studying in self-financing colleges from merit seats can also apply.
Awards –
- For undergraduates – INR 5,000 per annum
- For postgraduates – INR 6,000 per annum
- For professional courses – INR 7,000 per annum
- Hostel stipend – INR 13,000 per annum
Note – The hostel stipend is available only for students residing in recognized hostels.

APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship (APJAK), Kerala
Provider – Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala
Eligibility –
- Students belonging to Minority communities (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Parsis, Jains, and Buddhists) can apply for this scholarship.
- They must be studying in a government/aided polytechnic in a merit seat.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8,00,000.
Award – INR 6,000 per annum

Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship Award (PJMS), Kerala
Provider – Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala
Eligibility –
- Applicants belonging to the Minority community (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains, and Buddhists) can apply for this scholarship.
- They must be pursuing their education in Classes 10, 12, and VHSE.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8,00,000 from all sources.
Award – INR 10,000 for each selected scholar at different levels

Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS), Kerala

- They must be pursuing a nursing diploma/paramedical course.

CA/ICWA/CS Scholarship (IWCS), Kerala
Provider – Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala
Eligibility –
- Applicants belonging to Minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains, and Buddhists) and pursuing CA/ICWA/CS courses can apply for this scholarship.
- The minimum percentage of marks to be obtained by them in the last qualifying examination should be 60%.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8,00,000.
Award – INR 15,000 per annum for each student

District Merit Scholarship (DMS), Kerala
Provider- Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala
Eligibility-
- Students pursuing studies at higher secondary, VHSC, ITI, or Polytechnic courses can apply.
- They must have passed the SSLC examination conducted by the Board of Public Examination, Kerala State with an ‘A’ plus grade in all subjects.
Award – INR 1,250 per annum

State Merit Scholarship, Kerala
Provider – Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala
Eligibility
- Students pursuing studies in the first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate course in a government/aided college or university can apply.
- The minimum percentage of marks to be obtained by them in the qualifying examination should be 50% or above.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 1,00,000.
Awards
- For graduates – INR 1,250 per annum each to 300 students
- For postgraduates – INR 1,500 per annum each to 150 students

Sanskrit Scholarship (SSE), Kerala

Eligibility – The scholarship is open for students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses with Sanskrit as a subject.

- For undergraduate courses – 55 scholarships of INR 200 per month to each scholar
- For postgraduate courses – 25 scholarships of INR 200 per month to each scholar

- This scholarship is applicable to blind/physically handicapped/deaf students.
- They must be pursuing their studies in government/aided Arts and Science Colleges, Music Colleges, and Higher Secondary/Vocational Higher Secondary schools.
Awards
- Blind students with annual family income below INR 2,50,000 will receive a fee waiver
- Physically disabled students (hostellers) with family income below INR 4,50,000 will receive a waiver in hostel charges
- Physically disabled students (day scholars) with family income below INR 4,50,000 will receive a waiver in boarding charges.

- The minimum percentage of marks to be obtained by them in the last qualifying examination is 50% or above.
Award – INR 10,000 per annum towards pursuing higher education

Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) for Minority Community, Kerala

Eligibility –
- Open for students who belong to a minority community (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains, and Buddhists).
- They must be pursuing their studies from Classes 11 to the Ph.D. level.
- The minimum percentage of marks to be obtained by them in the qualifying examination should be 50% or above or an equivalent grade.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 2,00,000.
Awards –
- Admission and tuition fee up to INR 10,000 per annum
- Maintenance allowance of up to INR 1,200 per month (for 10 months)

Central Sector Scholarship (CSS), Kerala
Provider – Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala
Eligibility –
- The students, who are above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in Class 12 from respective Board of Examination can apply for this scholarship.
- They must be pursuing regular degree courses at the undergraduate or postgraduate level from institutions/colleges recognized by AICTE/UGC/MCI/DCI or any other regulatory authorities.
- The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8,00,000 from all sources.
Awards
- For graduation level – INR 10,000 per annum for the first three years and INR 20,000 per annum for 4th and 5th year (for integrated/5-year courses)
- For postgraduation level – INR 20,000 per annum
