The full form of CUET  is the Central Universities Entrance Test. It is a renowned examination, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency for 12th-pass students who want to opt for admission into UG and PG courses at the country’s central universities. What is the Full Form of CUET?

The full form of CUET is the Central Universities Entrance Test. The NTA started to conduct the CUET examination in the year 2021. This exam has relatively changed the system of admissions to national central universities. It has demolished the autocracy of high cutoffs and ranks in universities like DU, IPU, CET, etc. The CUET also helps students belonging to deprived backgrounds to choose a college, as it provides a fair chance of admission to every student.


CUET Full Form- Exam Pattern 



The CUET exam is distinguished into different sections such as languages, domain, and general tests. The Section 1 language is divided into 1A and 1B.  All the CUET applicants must select at least one language paper for the CUET exam. There are a total of 27 domain subjects, from which a candidate can choose the subjects they want to give an exam based on the specific subject combination required for admission according to their respective program. CUET Full Form-Eligibility Criteria 

Each University for each program has different eligibility requirements that candidates must fulfill. Taking reference from that, the CUET also follows its own eligibility criteria that students must follow: 
Students belonging to the general category must score a minimum of 50% marks on their 12th board. Whereas candidates belonging to SC/ST need to score 45% to fall into the eligibility criteria.
One’s high school subjects need to match the subject requirements of the course and college they are going to.
There is no specific age limit for CUET, but there are several institutions that ask for a specific requirement that must be fulfilled.
Students can apply to three participating colleges and have a combination of three selected programs while out their CUET applications.
Students can register for the CUET exam without giving their 12th boards, student’s will be asked to embellish the mark sheet during counseling.

 

Importance of CUET Full Form 

CUET plays an important role in maintaining the entire admission process for UG and PG to central, state, and private colleges. The reasons why CUET is important are mentioned below:
Minimum weightage of 12th board marks- Before the CUET examination, 12th board marks were considered as a supreme weightage. UG admission across all top colleges relies upon them, especially for non-STEM programs. This system was used to push the cutoffs to vast heights and created a division between students from different regions . However, with the introduction of CUET, every student receives the same opportunity to get admission to the best institution.
New admission process- Before the introduction of CUET, students had to rush to different locations to fill out forms, submit documents, and fill admission requirements for various colleges. Every college had a separate process, meaning students had to invest time. But with the help of CUET, this process is smoother and easier, as students need to take one exam and one website for admission to 249 universities and numerous programs.
