Calicut University Distance Education 2024: One of the main divisions of the University of Calicut is the School of Distance Education (SDE). Established in 1981, it has grown to become one of the leading providers of distance learning. The organization is associated with the University Grants Commission of India. It provides for the needs of thousands of students from various countries.

The University of Calicut School of Distance Education provides 26 programs, 14 UG and 12 PG. UG programs include BBA, BA, B.Com, and B.Sc, while PG programs include MA, M.Com, and M.Sc. Additionally, the university offers an MBA. Eight BA courses and two B.Com courses are open streams.

Calicut University Distance Education PG Admission 2024

MA and M.Sc programs require suitable undergraduate degrees. M.Com candidates must have a BBA, B.Com, BBM, or BBS from a UGC or AICTE-recognized university with at least 45% marks. The Calicut University Management Aptitude Test (CUMAT) determines admission to the Distance MBA program, which needs 50% in undergraduate studies (10+2+3 or 10+2+4).

Calicut University Distance Education MBA Admission 2024

MBA students with bachelor's degrees in any discipline can apply to Calicut University in 2024. The duration of distance-learning MBAs is two years. Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 50% marks and meet the requirement of obtaining CUMAT scores to be considered for acceptance. Calicut University requires MBA applicants to take the CUMAT exam, and admission is determined solely by their performance on the exam.

  1. Visit the School of Distance Education website at http://www.sde.uoc.ac.in/.

Additional PG Degree Registration

Identity Card

  • Upon admission to the School of Distance Education, students receive an Identity Card displaying their Enrollment Number and Contact Class Centre details. This card is essential for accessing the School and attending Contact Classes. 

Contact Classes

  • Contact Classes are offered online via various platforms and offline at designated Learner Support Centres (Contact Class Centres). Offline classes are conducted based on conducive conditions. Students select a Contact Class Centre during Online Registration, allocated based on program enrollment. The timetable for Contact Classes, taught by SDE and affiliated college teachers and subject experts, is published in advance on the website.

Study Materials

  • SDE provides students with study materials developed by subject teachers and experts. Soft copies are accessible in the Student Zone of the SDE website.

University Examinations

  • The Examination Branch, University of Calicut administers examinations. Students must apply online for exams as per issued notifications. Exam timetables are published in newspapers and on the University website. Timely tuition fee payment is mandatory for examination eligibility.

Examination Centres

  • Students choose their preferred examination center from a list during registration, with no option for changes. The final center allotment depends on capacity.

Transfer Certificate

  • Original Transfer Certificates submitted during PG admission are not returned. A new TC is issued upon course completion, discontinuation, or cancellation.
