What is a BTech Entrance Exam After 12th?

BTech entrance exams are standardized assessments conducted at national, state, or university levels in India. Eligibility Criteria for BTech Entrance Exams

While specific criteria may vary, general eligibility includes:

  • Passing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Minimum Marks: For PCM subjects, a minimum aggregate of 50% to 75% is usually required.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must typically be between the ages of 17 and 25; however, reserved categories are exempt from this requirement.

Top 10 Engineering Entrance Exams in India 2025

1. JEE Main: One of India's most well-liked engineering entrance exams. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the JEE Mains 2025 exam twice, in January and April, respectively. 2. JEE Advanced: One of the seven zonal IITs administers JEE Advanced, the second stage of the JEE system, once a year under the direction of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). Admission to BTech programs offered by various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) is based on exam results. 3. BITSAT: BITSAT is an annual computer-based test (CBT) administered by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani for admission to Integrated First degree programs, such as BE, Pharma, and MSc programs offered by BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Dates for the BITSAT 2025 exam will be revealed soon.

4. VITEEE: The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) administers VITEEE, one of the most well-liked institute-level BTech exams, to applicants for its BTech programs.  The 2025 VITEEE will take place virtually.  The VITEEE 2025 exam dates have been revealed.

SRMJEEE: to admit students to its BTech programs offered at its campuses in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, and Delhi-NCR, SRM Institute of Science & Technology administers SRMJEEE.  More than 100 testing locations in India and a few in the Middle East will host the online SRMJEEE 2025 exam. The SRMJEEE 2025 application form is now available from the SRM Institute of Science & Technology. Candidates' scores on the entrance exam will determine their admission to one of SRMIST's many campuses.

6. COMEDK: The state-level COMEDK UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) is administered by the Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED K). The exam scores are used for admissions to interested candidates in engineering and medical degree courses offered by colleges/institutes that are affiliated with COMEDK.  The COMEDK 2025 exam dates have been revealed.

7. KIITEE: To admit applicants to its undergraduate and graduate programs, the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, administers the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination (KIITEE).  More than 60 test locations located throughout the nation's states will host KIITEE 2025.

8. WBJEE: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) administers the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE), a state-level test.  The exam serves as a gateway for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the state's colleges in the fields of engineering and technology, architecture, and pharmacy.  The date of the WBJEE 2025 exam is April 28. 

9. MHT CET: The DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra, administers the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) to students enrolled in the state's first-year engineering and technology (BE/BTech) and pharmacy (BPharma/PharmD) programs.  The CET Cell Maharashtra has announced the date of the MHT CET 2025 exam.

10. MET: To select applicants for admission to different engineering programs, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) administers the MET entrance exam. Candidates' rank or score on the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) determines their eligibility for admission to Manipal University's courses.
