What is Bihar STET (BSTET)?

Bihar Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (STET) is conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) to check the eligibility of candidates as Secondary level teachers (Class 9- 10) and Higher Secondary level teachers (Class 11- 12). The Bihar STET exam has two papers, Paper 1 (Secondary) and Paper 2 (Higher Secondary). You need to clear the written exam to become eligible for teaching posts in various schools under the Bihar Government. Also the exam is conducted to check the eligibility of Physical Education Teachers.

Exam Purpose

To determine the eligibility of teachers for Secondary and Higher Secondary level in the schools of Bihar

Bihar STET Qualifying Marks

Candidates need to secure minimum qualifying marks to clear the tests. A candidate from the general category needs to secure 50 per cent marks to qualify the exam and candidates from other categories must secure 45 per cent marks to qualify. The Bihar STET exam for Physical Education and Physical Trainer is conducted separately. The qualifying percentage remains the same as that of Paper 1 and Paper 2. Bihar STET Eligibility Criteria

The Bihar STET eligibility criteria is provided below in terms of nationality, age limit and educational qualification. A candidate will be considered eligible for Bihar STET if he or she meets the following parameters:

The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Bihar.

The age of applicants must be between 21 and 40 years. However, there is a relaxation in the Bihar STET age limit for the reserved categories as mentioned below.

Bihar STET Age Limit Relaxation

The Bihar STET age limit 2024 has been relaxed by four years. Candidates who became over age during August 1, 2019 - August 1, 2024, could appear for the Bihar STET exam 2024. These candidates need to submit the Bihar STET application form 2024 in order to appear for the exam.

  • Candidates from any Indian state can apply
  • Candidates must be a Class 10 pass 
  • Candidates must hold a certificate/ diploma/ degree in physical education
  • The age limit will remain the same as mentioned above in Paper 1 and Paper 2

  • Bihar STET admit card: Admit card or hall ticket will be available one week before the written exam. Download from the link given on the official website.
  • Bihar STET exam: Written exam will be conducted for both Secondary and Higher Secondary level as per Bihar STET syllabus and exam pattern of BSEB.
  • Bihar STET answer key: Answer key will be released by BSEB after the written exam. If you find any mistake, send your objections. Final answer key will be released after objections are analyzed.
  • Bihar STET result: Result will be declared after assessment is over.
