BPSC stands for The Bihar Public Service Commission 

 

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) it's a body selected by the Constitution of India to select candidates for civil services in the Indian state of Bihar according to the merits of a candidate. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) was formed on 1 April 1949. The headquarters is located in Patna, Bihar. 

 

BPSC conducts recruitment exams to fill the vacancies in the state administration of Bihar. 

The  Bihar Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Exam ( BPSC CCE) is divided into three main categories, first prelims, second mains and third is interview. 

 

Prelims: it is the first stage after clearing this stage you can go to another stage which is the mains.

 

Mains: This level is much tougher than the prelims as the syllabus is a little vast. 

 

Interview: after clearing all the levels you come to give an interview, interviews usually happen after a 2-3 month gap after the main exam.

Age limit: The BPSC age limit for general categories is divided as follows: 

 

Minimum age to apply: 20,21 and 22

Maximum age till you can apply: 37 years

BC/OBS ( Male/ Female) Minimum age for apply: 20,21 and 22

BC/OBS ( Male/ female) Maximum age till you can apply: 40 years.

 

SC/ST  ( Male/Female) Minimum age to apply: 20,21 and 22.

SC/ST   ( Male/ female) Maximum age till you can apply: 42 years.

Education qualification 

A candidate needs to have a postgraduate degree with a minimum percentage of 40% from a recognized university/ college. 

Or an equivalent qualification.

  • Physical qualification 

The Physical eligibility criteria are as follows:

 

Minimum height 

General category male : 5 feet 5 inch 

Women candidate: 5 feet 2 inch 

SC/ST: 5 feet 3 inch 

 

 

Chest 

General category male: 32 inches 

SC/ST male: 31 inches 

 

For claiming benefits under reservation, candidates need to: 

Have a Bihar domicile 

For the BC/ST category 

Bihar domicile.

Cast certificate.

For the BC/OBC category 

Non-creamy layer certificate
