BCA Course Eligibility​: A Comprehensive Guide

BCA eligibility requirements varies from institute to institute. Candidates must typically have completed their 10+2 from an accredited board with a minimum of 50% to 60% aggregate in Science, Commerce, or Arts in order to meet the BCA eligibility requirements. Although some institutions may require students to be between the ages of 17 and 25, there is typically no upper age limit for BCA. The majority of universities allow SC, ST, and OBC applicants to relax their requirements by up to 5%. 

Some of the top universities offering BCA, like Loyola College Chennai, it requires applicants to have 70% in mathematics and 50% in aggregate. In order to be eligible for admission to the BCA course, candidates must have taken computer applications, English, or mathematics as one of their core subjects.

  • Candidates must have achieved 45–50% in mathematics on their 10+2 or equivalent exams from an accredited board.
  • Candidates from the ST, SC, and OBC reserved categories are eligible for a 5% relaxation.

BCA Eligibility after 12th

BCA is a popular undergraduate degree among students who have completed their 12th grade in recent years.  Depending on the student's chosen field of study, the BCA eligibility requirements may change.  Additionally, candidates must show up for the entrance exam, which consists of general knowledge, reasoning, and aptitude tests.

BCA Eligibility after 12th for Arts Students -

  • Completing high school with a minimum of 45% with a recognized board.
  • Computer applications and mathematics may be required courses in 10+2 at some colleges. 

BCA Eligibility after 12th for Science Students -

  • In 10+2, an aggregate percentage of at least 50% is necessary.
  • The applicant must have finished mathematics as a subject in their 10+2 education from an accredited board.
  • Physics, chemistry, and computer science are the subjects after which BCA can be pursued.

BCA Eligibility after 12th for Commerce Students -

DU SOL BCA Eligibility -

The following are the minimal requirements for admission to DU SOL BCA:

  • Candidates must have received at least 55% of the possible points in the senior secondary exam. 
  • Students must take the CUET exam. 
  • There is no upper age limit to take the CUET exam.

IGNOU BCA Eligibility -

The following are the requirements for admission to IGNOU's BCA program:

  • Candidates must have achieved at least 50% in their 10+2 exam (in any stream).
  • No upper or lower age restriction.

Christ University BCA Eligibility -

The following are the fundamental requirements for Christ University's BCA program:

  • Students are required to have PUC (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with Biology/Computer Science/Electronics stream) or its equivalent with at least 50% in their 10+2 coursework.
  • Non-Computer Science candidates must have taken a course in electronics, business mathematics, computer science, or mathematics at the +2 level. 

Amity University BCA Eligibility -

The following are the fundamental requirements for Amity University's BCA program:

  • Candidates must have received at least 50% of the possible points in the 10+2 level exam from a recognized state or Central Board.
  • The candidate must have his/her primary subjects mathematics, computer science, multimedia and web technology, information practice, data management applications, and web management.

VIT BCA Eligibility -

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for VIT's BCA program:

  • A minimum cumulative score of 65% in any stream for a 10+2 pass, with mathematics, business mathematics, or applied mathematics as one of the core subjects.
  • Applicants need to have taken their 10+2 final exams and are awaiting their results.

Galgotias University BCA Eligibility -

The following eligibility requirements must be met in order to be admitted to Galgotias University's BCA program:

  • 10+2 from an accredited institution with a minimum of 50%.
  • English and mathematics should be the candidates' primary subjects.

Jamia Hamdard BCA Eligibility -

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements in order to be considered for Jamia Hamdard's BCA program:

  • Maths must be one of the required subjects in the Senior Secondary exam, or an equivalent, administered by the CBSE.
  • To be eligible for admission, a minimum of 50% of the grade point average or CGPA must be met.

SRM University BCA Eligibility -

Mentioned below are the eligibility criteria for candidates who want to appear for an entrance test or a personal interview, as per the SRM university's admission policies.

  • A candidate should be a 10+2 pass with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics/Allied Mathematics as one of the main subjects.
  • Anyone with a Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks (recognized by the Government) may also apply.

LPU BCA Eligibility -

The following are the requirements for admission to LPU's BCA program:

  • Student must have achieved 50% on the English portion of the 10+2 exam, or its equivalent.
  • The English requirement may not apply to candidates who did not study English as a subject if they took the qualifying exam in English.
  • Candidates or defense personnel from Sikkim and the Northeastern states will receive a 5% relaxation.

Chandigarh University BCA Eligibility -

The following are the eligibility requirements for Chandigarh University's BCA program:

  • 10+2 or its equivalent exam from an accredited board with at least 50% of the possible points in any of the following subjects: science, commerce, or the arts.
  • BCA in Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality requires a minimum cumulative score of 55%.
