The West Bengal state government has launched the Aikyashree Scholarship as a financial assistance scheme for students belonging to minority groups. It has been run under the umbrella of West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation, WBMDFC to reduce the economic gap between economically weaker students and higher education. Aikyashree Scholarship aids are being offered for the minority studying students at the institute level from class 1 to PhD. 

Aikyashree Scholarship Categories

This is designed for students studying in grade 1- 10, helping them continue their education. 

Post-Matric Scholarship

This is designed for students in class 11- 12 and also for students pursuing  undergraduate and postgraduate. 

Merit-cum Means Scholarship

This Scholarship is provided to bright students who come from low income families but have excellent academic records. 

Talent Support Programs (TSP) 

This Scholarship is for students who have exceptional talents, irrespective of their academic scores. 

Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum Means Scholarship

This Scholarship is given to students excelling in higher studies with outstanding academic records.

Pre- Matric Scholarship

  • Students should be from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain communities. 
  • Students studying in class 1-10.
  • Their Family income should be less than INR 2,00,000
  • Students must have achieved 50% marks in their previous examination

Post-Matric Scholarship

  • Students should be from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain communities. 
  • Students studying in class 11-12.
  • Their Family income should be less than INR 2,00,000
  • Students must have achieved 50% marks in their previous examination

Merit-cum Means Scholarship

  • Students should be from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain communities. 
  • Students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate in technical / professional courses 
  • Their Family income should be less than INR 2,50,000
  • Students must have achieved 50% marks in their previous examination

Talent Support Programs (TSP) 

  • Students should be from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain communities. 
  • Students studying in class 11- PhD
  • Their Family income should be less than INR 2,00,000
  • Students must have achieved at least 50% marks in their previous examination

Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum Means Scholarship

  • Students should be from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain communities. 
  • Students studying in class 11 - postgraduate. 
  • Their Family income should be less than INR 2,50,000
  • Students must have achieved 60% marks in Higher Secondary, 53% in Post Graduation and 55% in Engineering. 

Family Income Criteria

The annual income of the beneficiary should be between ₹2 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh per year based on the type of scholarship.

The Aikyashree Scholarship selection process is on the basis of:
