AICTE Scholarship is an initiative for the AICTE Yashasvi-Young Achievers' Scholarship and Holistic Academic Skills Venture Initiative-by the All India Council for Technical Education toward core engineering technical education. Its aim is to motivate meritorious students towards taking undergraduate as well as diploma courses in any of the core engineering branches including Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering within the approved list of institutions that have AICTE accreditation for these programs from the academic session 2024-25 onward.

The applicant shall produce a valid Income Certificate issued by the State/UT government. The scholarship would award an amount of INR 50,000 per year up to 4 years for Degree students and up to INR 30,000 per year up to 3 years for Diploma students. The scholarship would be purely granted on merit basis in the qualifying examination with reservations as applicable according to the norms of the Government.   • He/She should be an Indian citizen.
  • Must have been admitted to first year in any diploma or degree course of any AICTE approved core engineering disciplines
  • Annual Family Income: Not exceeding  8,00,000 from all sources. The requirement is accompanied by an income certificate issued by a State/ UT government
  • All such students who are admitted in the first year or second year through lateral entry to degree or diploma programs in core engineering branches of AICTE-approved institutions are eligible to apply for the Yashasvi Scholarship.

    • Degree Students: INR 50,000 per year for a maximum of four years (three years for lateral entry students).
    • Diploma Students: INR 30,000 per year for a maximum of three years (two years for lateral entry students). 
  • Total Scholarships: A total of 5,200 scholarships are issued every year. 2,593 are issued for degree courses and 2,607 for diploma courses.

Step 1: Registration

The first step to filling the application form for AICTE scholarship is to register for the scholarship. To register, follow the below steps.

  • Visit the AICTE Scholarship Portal.
  • Register by filling up the personal and academic details required.
  • The registration ID/Application/User ID and password will be shared over the registered email ID and mobile number via SMS.

  • Merit-Based: It follows the merit-based selection as per qualifying examination:
    • Degree Students: As per Class 12 marks.
    • Diploma Students: The selection of diploma students is done as per the marks of Class 10.

  • In case of tie: The following criteria shall be used in case of a tie.
    • Degree Students: Higher percentage in Class 12; if it is still tied, then elder age shall prevail.
    • Diploma Students: Greater percentage in Class 10; if it is still a tie, then older age shall have precedence.

Terms and Conditions of the AICTE Yashasvi Scholarship

When applying for the scholarship, the following terms and conditions must be considered and taken into account.

  • There should be not more than a gap of 2 years between qualifying examination and taking admission in Degree/Diploma course.
  • It is notified once a year on AICTE Scholarship Portal Applications are invited.
  • However, if a student (belonging to a reserved category) is qualified in general merit list, he/she will be eligible under the general category.
  • Applications which are not complete will not be considered. The scholarship applied online will only consider verified scholarships.
  • Dropping out in a later year means not getting the scholarship benefits for subsequent years.
  • This particular scholarship is only for on core engineering branches. 
  • In the event of a students changing to any other branch, the student will lose right of the award scholarship and must return the full amount of the scholarship to AICTE in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Member Secretary, AICTE,” New Delhi.
  • Students may not receive any other financial assistance, including scholarships, fellowships, stipends, or salaries during their course.
  • Everyone must ensure that they do not lose the AICTE scholarship, in which case they need to return the entire amount through Draft.
  • The scholarship program would be monitored and managed by AICTE.
  • If CGPA is received along with total marks, then total marks must be utilized for evaluation.
  • If grades such as A1, A2, B1, B2, etc. are given, they will initially be converted to CGPA and then the percentage will be calculated using 9.5 multiplier.
  • The provisional as well as final list of selected candidates will be displayed on the AICTE website. Any students can raise concern regarding merit list within one month. No queries shall be entertained after that.
  • Inquiry on whether or not the transaction was complete due to inadequate account details must be solved within six months of the merit list being published.
  • Total 5,200 scholarships are issued every year. 2,593 are issued for degree courses and 2,607 for diploma courses.
