Agniveer Army Eligibility

  1. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
  2. For the 2024 intake, the age of the applicant should be between 17.5 to 23 years. For the subsequent intakes, the age of the applicant should be between 17.5 to 21 years.
  3. The applicant must fulfill the educational qualifications and physical and medical standards set by the Indian Army / Indian Navy / Indian Air Force.

Note 01: The Agniveers will be enrolled in the Forces under respective Service Acts for a period of four years. They would form a distinct rank in the Armed Forces, different from any other existing ranks.

Note 02: Upon the completion of four years of service, based on organizational requirements and policies promulgated by the Armed Forces from time to time, Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Armed Forces.

Note 03: The applications for permanent enrolment will be considered in a centralized manner based on objective criteria including performance during their four-year engagement period and up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in the regular cadre of the Armed Forces. The selection will be the exclusive jurisdiction of the Armed Forces.

Note 04: Agniveers will meet the medical eligibility conditions laid down for enrolment in the armed forces as applicable to respective categories/trades.

Note 05: The educational qualification for Agniveers will remain as in vogue for enrollment in various categories.

Indian Army Agniveer Selection Process

Indian Army Agniveer Selection Process is consisting of two stages.

  • Phase I will consist of an Online Common Entrance Exam that will be conducted at various Computer Based Test Centres across India.
  • Phase II will involve a Recruitment Rally organized by AROs (Army Recruiting Offices) at designated Rally Venues. This phase will be followed by Document Verification, Medical Examination, and the final step of preparing the Merit List.

How to Apply Indian Army Agniveer

To apply online for Indian Army Recruitment 2024, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Indian Army website at https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/.
  2. Header on the home page, click on “Agnipath”.
  3. New page will open.
  4. If new user, click on “Registration”. If existing user, login with username and password. Read instructions and details carefully and then click “Continue”.
  5. OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to mobile number or email ID provided during registration.
  6. After registration, new page will open to check eligibility for different trades.
  7. Review eligibility and list of upcoming rallies for different trades will be shown. Select the rally as per your eligibility.
  8. Fill up personal and educational details in application form.
  9. Required documents in specified format: Scanned passport size photo (10 KB to 20 KB in JPG format) and scanned signature (5 KB to 10 KB in JPG format).
  10. Pay application fee online.
  11. Download application form and save for future reference. Print two copies of application form as it will be required later in process.

Indian Army Agniveer Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Agniveer Recruitment Examination Pattern is as follows:

  • Online test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Number of questions and time duration will vary based on the category of the applicant. 50 questions in an hour or 100 questions in 2 hours.
  • Negative marking will be there where 0.5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Unattempted questions will be 0 marks.
  • Each correct answer will be full marks.
  • All attempted questions including those flagged for review will be counted.
