Ms. Preeti Das is the Additional Director of the Unitedworld School of Liberal Arts and Mass Communication at Karnavati University. She teaches Gender Studies, Media and Culture and Journalism at Karnavati University. She has over 16 years of work experience in the field of media. Her experience includes working with television and print as a journalist, a radio jockey and program producer, head of Communication and Information for the tsunami project in India and Sri Lanka for Action Aid International, qualitative researcher and a teacher.ÂÂ
Aaj Tak and Headlines Today, ActionAid International, Quantum Market Research, Radio Mirchi, MYFM ,CEPT, St. Xaviers College, PDPU, DNA ,Indian Express are a few organizations she has been associated with .
As a print journalist with the DNA and the Indian Express Preeti has focused on health reporting, crime against women and children and politics.ÂÂ
She was awarded 2 Ladlee Media award- National and then South Asia level for investigative journalism in India (2015-2016) for her series of stories on documenting the lives of gang rape survivors and for missing toilets and rapes .
Preeti continues to work as a free lance journalist .Preeti is the co founder of Mahila Manch- an Ahmedabad based performance space which uses stand up comedy to talk about various issues . Mahila Manch has been ranked as one of the top 5 talents to watch out for in India by the Women’s Web.
