The Anna University will host the TNEA 2023 (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) examination. Candidates can apply through this for admission to a variety of UG engineering programmes, including B.E./B.Tech degree programmes. Every year, a state-level admissions process is carried out. Candidates may enroll in any of the Anna University - affiliated government, government-aided, or private engineering institutes. The admission is granted based on class 12th or prerequisite scores.

TNEA 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- If a candidate has completed grades 8th to 10th in the state of Tamil Nadu, they are not need to present their nativity certificate.
- Candidates who have completed their eighth through twelfth grades, or an equivalent exam, outside the state of Tamil Nadu, must present an original, digitally signed e-certificate of nativity.
- If their parents or guardians were working in Tamil Nadu consistently for the previous five years at the time the application was submitted, children of Central Government employees or those employed in the public sector may also apply for admission.
- Candidates who studied in Tamil Nadu and are Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees are eligible to sit for the test. They must exhibit the following documents.
- Certificate of identification issued by the Tehsildar at the headquarters.
- The applicant must have passed the 11th and 12th grades, or an equivalent exam, from a recognised board.
- Candidate must successfully complete Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as required subjects.
