The IMU CET exam pattern is fixed by the Indian Maritime University (IMU) and is published on the official website - imu.edu.in. The candidates can simply visit the website for the detailed exam pattern. The IMU CET exam is conducted for admission to various UG, PG, and PhD programs in various centres across the nation. The exam is conducted for admission to six of the IMU campuses.

IMU CET is an online computer-based-test (CBT) conducted for a duration of three hours and has 200 multiple choice questions.   • Mode: IMU CET 2025 will be held online only or Computer-Based. Candidates should note that there is no option to give an offline test. Candidates will have to mark answers on the computer screen.

How to Prepare for IMU CET 2025?

Some of the important preparation tips for IMU CET 2025 are given below. 

  • Firstly, the candidates are advised to check the official exam pattern and syllabus of IMU CET 2025 beforehand. This will allow the candidates to be well prepared for the upcoming examination as they are familiar with all of the required information.
  • Next, the candidates will have to prepare a personalized timetable where they will have to plan out their study schedule. The timetable should cover the entire syllabus well before the examination date and also include separate time for revisions and mock tests.
  • While studying important and difficult topics, the candidates should ensure that they are taking notes. These notes can be carried by the candidates and studied anytime anywhere.

  • On the allotted computer, the candidate's details (Name, photograph etc.) will be displayed on the screen.
  • At the scheduled time (usually 10 minutes before the exam), candidates have to enter ‘Username' as instructed in Admit Card.
  • After entering Username and Password click on “Sign In” button.

Reading Instructions

  • Read instructions carefully as they will provide the entire exam related information.
  • Click on “I am ready to begin” button. The test will start at scheduled time only
  • Timer count starts post clicking the button “I am ready to begin”.

Test Taking Process

  • Candidates can click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of the screen to go to that numbered question directly.
  • You have to select any answer from the four options, by clicking on the circle button in front of the option.
  • To change the already chosen answer, circle button of another option can be clicked. To cancel the answer, click on Clear response button.
  • To save your answer, it is necessary to click on the Save & Next button, otherwise it will not be saved.
  • To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button. If a question is answered and Marked for Review, that answer will be considered in the evaluation.
  • Submit button will not be available till the completion of the exam time. System will automatically submit the test after Exam Closure time.
  • Exam summary will be displayed on the screen with Subject Name, Number of questions answered, not Answered, marked for review, and not visited.
  • Please confirm by clicking ‘Yes' button

  • The countdown timer will start ticking down after you click the button “I am ready to begin”.
  • Candidates can refer to the timer to check the time left to complete the test.
