The IBSAT eligibility criteria is defined by IBS on its official website. When applying for the IBSAT 2024 exam, candidates must check the eligibility criteria as those who do not meet these eligibility criteria will not be able to sit for the exam and it will lead to the cancellation of their IBSAT application form. It is also to be noted that the IBSAT eligibility criteria is different for different courses offered by the IBS Campuses.

The IBSAT eligibility criteria refers to the various criteria that the candidates must fulfil to sit for the exam and includes criteria like the minimum qualification, minimum marks, age limit, nationality among others. The IBSAT exam is scheduled for 28th and 29th December 2024 and the minimum qualification states that the candidate should have secured 55% in their graduation from a recognized university. There is no upper age limit to apply for the exam.

IBSAT Eligibility Criteria Highlights
Candidates can check the basic highlights of the IBSAT eligibility criteria below.
- Each degree should be in English medium. In case you do not have it, you must submit the scores of TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS by May 31, 2025.
- For an MBA program, a minimum of 15 years of education (on 10+2+3 OR 10+2+5) must be completed.
- For a Ph.D. program, a minimum of 17 years of regular education must be completed (in 10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2 module).
- Students in their final year of graduation can also apply provided they complete the graduation by November 30, 2024.
- There is no upper age limit to apply for the exam.
- Candidates with a valid NMAT/ GMAT/ CAT/ XAT Score can directly participate in the IBSAT 2024 Selection Procedure.

IBSAT Eligbility Criteria - Course-Wise
Candidates must know that each course in IBSAT exam has a different eligibility criteria. Check the eligibility criteria for each course given in detail below.
MBA/ PGPM Programs
Bachelor's Degree
- The minimum eligibility requirement is graduation in any discipline with not less than 50% marks.
- Candidates in their final year of bachelor's degree courses can also apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements (including practical exam/ viva/ assignments) within the date specified by the institute.
- The admission for such candidates will remain provisional until they submit mark sheets and degree certificates stating their eligibility.
Minimum 15 years of Study
- Applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of education (on a 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis).
- Graduates with a course on a one-time sitting basis or a two-year basis will not be eligible.
English Medium Only
- Candidates applying for IBSAT 2024 should have studied English as a medium of instruction.
- Applicants not meeting these criteria at the undergraduate level are supposed to submit their TOEFL/NELT/IELTS scores before May 31, 2024.
PhD Programs
- Graduation in any discipline with 50% and above marks with a medium of instruction as English. Candidates not meeting the criteria of English medium in graduation and/ or post-graduation have to submit a TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS score within the specified date.
PhD Program in Management (Full-time/ Part-time)
PG in Management (full-time with specialization in Marketing/ Finance/ Human Resource Management/ Operations from a UGC-approved University) with 55% and above marks.
OR
PG (full-time) in Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or in an allied discipline from a recognized University in India or abroad with 55% and above marks.
OR
- A Professional qualification like CFA/ CA/ CWA/ CS with 55% and above marks.
- Applicants should have completed a minimum of 17 years of regular education (on a 10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2 basis).
- Applicants who have completed their graduation/Post-graduation on a one-time sitting basis or part-time, distance mode, or online mode are not eligible for PhD program of IBS Hyderabad.
Ph.D. program in Economics (Full-time)
- Graduation with 50% and above marks and PG in Economics or Allied Discipline with at least 55% marks.
- A minimum of 17 years of regular education i.e. on 10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2 basis is must for candidates.
- Candidates who have completed their graduation/ Post graduation on a time-sitting basis or on part-time, distance mode, or online mode are not eligible for the Ph.D. program of IBS Hyderabad.
- The medium of Instruction must be English at the UG level.
Reservation Policy for IBSAT 2024
The conducting body hasn't defined any specific reservation policy for the candidates who are going to appear for IBSAT 2024. There are no fixed norms followed for IBSAT Seat Allotment. The IBSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria of Reserved Categories are given as under:
- Aggregate marks requirements for every category are similar, hence even reserved category candidates must secure the same marks as general category candidates.
- The minimum mark required to appear for IBSAT 2024 is 50% for the MBA/ PGPM program.
- Application fee -INR 1800 is also the same for all the categories. There is no relaxation in the application fee for SC, ST, or OBC categories.
- IBSAT is one of the entrance exams which does not guarantee any seat in the reserved category. Every candidate is treated at par.
- All candidates are required to fulfil all the mandatory eligibility conditions in order to gain admission in any of the IBS colleges.

Exemptions from IBSAT 2024
Candidates are exempted from the IBSAT examination and will be directly called for the IBSAT 2024 Group Discussion and Personal Interview if they have a valid score in either of the following exams:
- CAT
- GMAT
- NMAT by GMAC
- XAT
