National Institute of Technology (NIT) - Nagaland, Dimapur Admission
Candidates seeking admission to different NIT Nagaland courses have to follow an application procedure. They should also fulfill the eligibility criteria defined by the university. The admission procedure has several steps to be completed.
- The institute offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. (in the field of engineering and technology) in various specialization
- Admission to Undergraduate programs depends on the scores secured by a candidate in JEE Main entrance examination followed by counseling by JoSAA
- And admission to Postgraduate programs depends on the performance in GATE examination followed by counseling.

NIT Nagaland Admission(B.Tech.)
The institute provides the Undergraduate Program (B. Tech) under six specializations namely civil engineering, computer science & engineering, electrical & electronics engineering, electronics & communication engineering, electronics & instrumentation engineering, and mechanical engineering. These are 4 year Bachelor's degree programs. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programs are required to have fulfilled the eligibility criteria defined by the university.
- Candidates should have passed 10+2 from science stream with Mathematics as their compulsory subject securing at least 65% marks in aggregate (60% for Reserved categories)
- In order to be eligible for admission, the candidates are required to have appeared and qualified JEE Main entrance examination
- Selection procedure depends on the candidates' performance in JEE Main entrance examination
- After appearing in and qualifying JEE Main examination, the candidates have to sit for Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling
- If the candidate is not able to fulfill any of the criteria defined by the institute and JoSAA, the authority has complete right to take action regarding the cancellation of his candidature

NIT Nagaland Admission(M.Tech.)
The institute offers Postgraduate program (M.Tech) under four specializations namely Computer Science & Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, VLSI Systems, and Communication Engineering. It is a two-year full-time program for which the aspirants are expected to have a Bachelor's degree under relevant specialization. Following are the eligibility criteria and application procedure for admission to M.Tech,
- The candidates seeking admission should hold a bachelor's degree under relevant specialization securing at least 65% marks
- They should appear and qualify Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination
- A valid score of GATE is required
- The enrollment takes place through a Centralized counseling (CCMT), which usually starts during the second week of April.

- A valid GATE score is one of the major requirements for admission to M.Tech
- Candidates are required to register themselves by filling the application form for GATE, for which they can visit GOAPS and can receive further updates related to the admission
- If the candidates hold B.E/ B.Tech a degree (lateral entry) they are eligible to reply
NIT Nagaland Admission(Ph.D.)
- Candidates should hold a Master's degree in Engineering or technology with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate
- If the candidates are approved by the Director, they will be given admission after they make the payment of prescribed fees
- If the registration is canceled for any reason, the candidate is, ordinarily, not allowed to register again. However, they can be given a chance if the Director approves
NIT Nagaland application procedure:
- Candidates must register themselves by visiting the official website of the Institute
- The candidates can update their GATE/JEE scores on the website
- They can directly apply after the result of entrance examination is declared after which they are advised to attend the counseling procedure for seat allotment
- Reservation is offered as per the guidelines of the government
- Scholarships are given to meritorious students
